Why do american citizens allow taxation if their whole country was founded to avoid taxation

Especially for military. I thought amerca was founded because we were having a war with france and we taxed colonists for it so they revolted.
Yet why have Americans been ok with very similar taxes and taxes for other stuff from their own government.

When did this all start because it certainly didnt start right after 1776 otherwise washingtons government would have been ousted just like we were.
