I think the best values in personal finance is definitely either greendot or Alliant (3 percent cash back credit card for the first year with no fee, 2.5 percent thereafter with 99 bucks a month, or just a 2 percent card with no fees, then a 2.1 perecent savings with a 0.64 percent interest checkings). Ok so greendot is GREAT if you spend a lot of money on your debit card, but if you don't then it's not really a worthwhile investment I think, since the cards charge you a fee if you dont spend the money fast enough.

Pfffthahahahaha i last minute break in to the green just before close. Bought the Cresco Labs dip hard at 9.45 (leafs). It rallied to 9.86 in the last couple minutes and put in a hammer candle for the day. Still way oversold so i expect some follow through on oversold bounce tomorrow regardless of market bearish pressure.

I'm still baffled how clutch my s&p sell this morning was. 30 minutes before Trump's china shitpost i sold because bulls ran out of steam on the bounce. That is maybe the best timed move i've ever made.

Nvidia definitely has the advantage, and while I didn't expect it, AMD's latest GPUs turned out better than everybody thought. Their new sharpening technique completely shit's on Nvidia's blurry mess and Nvidia's RTX raytracing meme technology is a dead end because AMD WILL set the industry standard for raytracing via consoles. Of course it's quite likely that Nvidia will completely shit all over AMD with their own 7nm cards in 2020, but we'll see.

AMD's post processing filter doesn't matter. People have been using sweetFX forever personally I think in looks gaudy.

RTX could be important if Nvidia sues AMD for copying their technology. Also raytracing is the next generation of rendering much like programmable shaders were for the xbox360/ps3 so its not a meme, but like you say Nvidia is in kind of a tricky place to leverage getting to the market first.

The real reason AMD won't catch up anytime soon is because they fired raj not too long ago and it takes around 5 years to develop, test, and manufacture a completely new architecture. GCN seems like a deadend so in the meantime all graphics chips won't be that great, and by the time they become competitive IF they do it will be hard to compete because NVDA's domination in the software market. You will never see AMD GPU's in data centers I think.

And it's true that there's not a good alternative really. MDMA works even better than alcohol in social settings but it's slightly neurotoxic and using it anywhere near the frequency people use alcohol will kill you quickly. Similar story with other uppers.

Tobacco and Qat make for good social drugs but the health risks there are frankly just as bad. You don't get the increased violence part though.

IIRC Nvidia sued AMD and PowerVR for copying programmable shaders so they might do the same for raytracing

Limited forms of raytracing has always been somewhat feasible on graphics cards. Nvidia’s claim to fame is they have hardware acceleration for “AI” postprocessing and hardware acceleration for some important bounding box algorithm. So it should be faster than anything done in software.

Boise is a relatively "sparse" city; low homeless profile, low junkie profile, low pollution, etc.
Lake Cour d'Alene is the ultimate summer vacation spot.
Lucky Peak is an amazing camping/lake site despite having lots of people.
Pocatello has the best natural hot springs in the nation.
Gun culture is exactly correct. Hell, the democrats probably own more rifles than the republicans do here. Nothing crazy happens because over half the population has a gun. No permits needed for ccw either.

Like, 5 different ski resorts. 2-3 good months of powder.
And all the hiking trails you could ever need. My favorite is the hiawatha bike trail shared by Montana. There's a really neat burnt down ghost mining town too that's good for pictures.

Shooting guns is fun, but I've never been in a situation where, looking back, I think it would've gone better if I and anyone else had concealed weapons.

The people who usually find themselves in those situations are the ones that seek them out, by going to sketchy areas, dealing drugs, whatever. Or they're just born into ghetto life and CCW doesn't seem like it would matter too much.

Maybe if I lived in my car, or worked off skid row, I don't know, I just don't see too much of a need for it. On the other hand, I've seen many friends get way too fucked up and do dumbass impulsive things, and I can think of many situations that would've gone worse if folks had guns.

Ghost towns, hot springs, and hiking is all good though.

Look at Netflix. All they are is a streaming service. The stock price is 300+. It hit that mark even before they started doing there own content.

So what do you think will happen to Dis/T once they roll out there own platforms? The stock price will be a climbing that's what. Dis/T have an almost bottomless pit of "content" to pile on the service. Not to mention all those other revenue streams flowing in.

Netflix is not going anywhere. But facts are facts. Content is king and Dis/T/Comcast all have a shit load of it buried. So that's why all the fuss about cable subs leaving Direct is kinda funny. T knew this from the get go. It's not a surprise. Those subs will be back once the Streaming service is live. The content you'll get will be a no brainier.

well netflix started as a mail order blockbuster for dvds and basically took the whole thing to the next level with their cloud streaming. here's the fact, people don't like complications when it comes to basically anything outside of the types of people who enjoy puzzles, it's supposed to be stupidly simple and any company that can be one stop shop for entertainment is going to rake it in.
