15060763 No.15060763 [Reply] [Original]

So I've posted here a few times about this.

I have a drug that alleviates the core problems of ischaemic heart disease by increasing lipoprotien lipase production to clear arterial plaques.

So I was crunching some numbers.

700,000,000 people live with ischaemic heart disease.

I plan on charging $1000 for a bottle.

I expect a 100% market penetration because it's as close to a cure as you're gonna get.

That's 12 bottles a year.

My patent will last for 20 years.

That's 700,000,000 * 12 * 20 * $1000

That's $168,000,000,000,000.

Am I getting something wrong here?

OP's post sounds like fantasy because getting it cheap enough to be mass-manufactured to sell to all 700 million patients is a challenge which should do more to determine the price than just making it a nice even $1000 for the sake of lifetime profits
he's also delusional about the absolutely horrendous state of medicine and applied science in general in whatever you want to call the current world economic system
even if he was a genius who invented this and is just looking for a price tag, he'd run into all the many trillions if not quadrillions of dollars of entrenched interests who profit on a drip-drip-drip basis of charging many times 1000 dollars per patient continually, for drugs that don't provide permanent cures

A one-shot drug that solves a problem completely and can be mass-produced 700 million times cheap enough that $1000 for a full dose is a rip-off is the antithesis of the drug the pharmaceutical hydra wants. They'd rather drugs that create permanent dependencies and are expensive enough that they can make the equivalent profit that OP envisions in curing the world just from a smaller number of patients in the first world.
And that's just for unequivocal diseases - they manufacture subjective illnesses like depression or even create positive "identities" requiring pharmaceuticals like transgenderism, and in those cases they're worse than vultures.

No it doesn't. Trump drastically reduced the cost to submit one drug to the FDA for trial. AND you can get the money BACK.

I know because I looked into releasing a pet pharmaceutical, which need to go through FDA trials to be marketed legally.

It can cost as low as 80k to go through trials, which you get back for some drugs. Seeing as this will be a human pharm, it will probably cost more - thankfully Trump passed legislation making it easier for new drug makers to enter the market - so whatever the cost - it comes with the rebate where you get your money back.

You would have to raise capital to show clinical trials because these people won't believe you unless you got proof. What I recommend is that you go to one of competitors in the space , and sell your idea to them. (Or contact their Venture capital arm such as Pfizer corporate venture) Since this isn't a small project considering supply chain and logistics and all of the sourcing of ingredients , it would take time and consider human trials which would take years plus regulations. You should sell it and make a fuckload and move on to the next thing. I'm sure your competitors would be interested in what you have to offer. They got money and you got the cure. What do you want more? You
want to help others or do you want to make money? 168 trillion is more than the GDP of more than 100+ countries. Be realistic and sell it for a nice 20-30M and do the next thing. Best of luck anon.

The studies are results are online. They are in clinical papers not only from tests done on animals, but also humans. Take it from someone who had heart palpitations and high blood pressure to now not experiencing any of those issues.

Taurine is known as the ingredient in energy drinks that is made from bull sperm. That is 100% false. Taurine was synthesized from ox bile and can be made synthetically. People need to stop acting like you have to go see a doctor for this information. It's all on the internet. You have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to research anything you want in 2019.

Taurine can regulate cholesterol and improves the total functioning of the heart. I take a couple grams every night before getting rest. Add in weekly exercise 3-4 days a week and a healthy diet, then you got yourself a healthy body and mind. It works on the GABA receptors and calms nerves. It improves liver function and decreases liver enzymes.

What OP is trying to sell is bullshit. No offense OP.

Actually downregulation can be beneficial for people with too much activity in the synapse of neurons.

"Recently, a woman I work with in therapy was able to describe the involuntary muscular tensions, unpleasant pangs, and fluttering sensations of her anxiety (upregulation). She also described the wonderful (downregulation) sensations of her body finally letting go into blissful sleep when she settles down in bed at night."

Taurine can increase sensitivity to insulin and helps regulate glucose metabolism. This is good for people with diabetes. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3325402/

Taurine and hyperexcitable human muscle: effects of taurine on potassium-induced hyperexcitability of dystrophic myotonic and normal muscles.
> The stabilizing effect of taurine is discussed in relation to its ability to increase intracellular potassium concentration, membrane conductance, or both.

The studies say taurine can reverse potassium induced excitability in muscles. How would taurine cause hyperexcitability in neurons when it's a downregulator?

The study you posted demonstrates that mice were more likely to endure longer duration of exercise. I don't know. It says the rats were chronically fed taurine so they gave them way too much like most experimental studies do. They always give them way too much of a chemical. Now a human taking a few grams a day won't significantly cause problems. A few grams for a rat is insane.

There are also studies where diets high in foods with taurine like a low carb keto is why eating all meat doesn't cause heart disease. It's adding simple carbohydrates and poor sourced carbs at that. Eating a fruit smoothie over a Dr. Pepper. Flaxseed, olive, sunflower, and coconut oil over cottonseed, rapeseed, canola, and corn oil.
