If you want an honest answer: none are scams. Every coin and it’s team want to help and make a good product (usually)
The problem is that crypto will probably never see widespread use anytime soon; if you’re looking to make lots of money in a short time span (4-6 years) BTC is probably your best bet just due to how long it’s been around and how long it’s survived. I can only ever see it giving profit long-term.
Any other coin is essentially gambling. You could get rich (maybe) but it’s very unlikely. It’s not 2017 anymore.

Here's the REAL truth:
Not everyone does equal amounts of research on one particular coin/token. Some have only X amount of funds, so they look first at the lower cap projects. Some don't trust energy tokens and won't invest in LINK. Some think ETH 2.0 will completely alleviate the need for ONE, etc.

Keep in mind, during alt season, they're all likely to do pretty well. What you're looking for is the one that does the best. Personally, I'm fond of ONE the most because of the team they have and all of the oligarchical entities they tout.

My personal pick is RSR because it has the potential for mass adoption because it’s targeting high inflation areas that have a high demand for a more stable form of currency. (DYOR I’m invested so I have a bias)

Haven’t done enough research on the others.

VIDT seems decent but I haven’t invested yet.

SENT had a few days of hard shilling which caused a nice little pump. I like it as a project, still early, centralized vpn services are not to be trusted so SENT seems solid long term. Might get some after the hype dies down from last pump.

While I agree on the fact that BTC is the most conservative option to get a constant revenue in years to come and it’s clear that pretty much all the rest is basically gambling, just two extra comments:

1. I do think we can have another huge general bull run before crypto becomes another space where every single project moves on its own. Average everyday people have already heard of BTC but they’re still hesitant. When they get in, this will be the Wild West again.

2. New people looking to enter the world of crypto hoping to make some money need to understand something. Specially if they’re just normal guys who can only afford to put a few hundreds on this. Yes, BTC will go up again, and 100k a coin is a possibility. But have in mind that as huge as that sounds, that’s only 10x from the current price, so if you’re hoping to make hundreds of thousands from mere hundreds with bitcoin, you could say it’s still possible, but very unlikely. That’s why I’ll never understand people telling newbies to throw what they can at BTC and wait for a few years. That they won’t be disappointed. I mean, if you are just looking for a few thousands, then by all means, do it. But let’s face it. If you’re here you’ll probably want to tell the world how you invested in crypto when it was still fairly unknown and made at least enough to afford significant changes in your life. Be it a paid house and some extra money for emergencies or enough to make more conservative investments to have a constant passive income for the rest of your life. If that’s your case, I’d look into seemingly solid, but very recent projects with lots of space to grow. Is it considerably riskier? Yes. But as always you’re supposed to be playing with money you can afford to lose.
