So I have a business that has a revenue of £9.2 million an a net income of £220,000 a year.

Basically I rent a small warehouse and own a machine that's in the warehouse. Every morning my 3 suppliers come to deliver components, I feed it into the machine and in the evening a logistics company comes to collect the finished product and takes it to my sole customer.

It's a very niche business, and my contract with the sole customer ends in November 2021. They've already signed a new contract with another company so when November 2021 rolls around that's the end of my business.

What do I do then? I've got a couple of years to prepare at least, but don't have a clue what I'll do then

You have 2 years to find 1 customer, i dont think you gonna make it lad

Im not sure if you're being sarcastic, but the customer I have is the sole customer in the world that has a use for my product. So when November 2021 comes around, that is absolutely the end of my business

there cant be only one customer in the world, and if there really is only one, how the hell did you even start the business

Thanks for the first real world post on biz in fiveever.

If your client has been working with you this long, did you epic-fuckup to make them find another? Or can you just invite your contact for drinks and have "the talk" about what price will keep them?

This isn't a "niche" business.

This is the only business.

Learn how to speak faggot.

It's basically making a sensor for a car manufacturer

>>15006270
There is, it's a specific component for a specific brand.

I just can't compete price wise with my competition, my margins are thin enough as it is

Can you modify your machine to produce a different product?

Sell it

take everything you have and buy ___, wait a year and the closest thing to "work" you'll be doing is bending down to get into your Veyron & pressing the button inside the elevator at your estate.

Who is your competitor selling to at the moment if there is only one customer?

>> No.15006865

>>15006840
Yeah, this.

How did you ever establish this business if it's so niche?
Can you not adapt or repurpose your equipment to produce a different component for some other use?

So many questions unanswered.

If it really is the end of the road then I guess sell up, maybe even sell the equipment to your competitor, and take your capital elsewhere.

This. We need more of this stuff.
>>15006318
What allows your competitor to deliver the product cheaper?
Surely other cars must use a similar sensor that you can adapt to?

this is the correct answer
you still have the space, choose a different machine to invest in, one with more than one person to sell to
