Selling windows. Beat out 12 people for a sales job. Never even done it before. Sold $24,000 in windows my first week alone. Told them i quit without notice and keep my check. Give it back to the people who bought windows.

Didn't like lying to people. Aparently i am a very likeable person. I was really self conscious in high school and my buddy was a chad. Couldnt figure out how hes banging 9s and 10s on the reg because he wasnt athletic, muscular, had a speech impediment, and was balding already. It was baffling. He finally told me its all about reading people. Girls like confidence and, you being funny, and making them feel comfortable. This started a 5 year midsion studying body language, reading people, how to be quick witted, etc. It's funny. Terrified as fuck approaching 9-10 as like a 6 on a good day and acting like I'm not nervous at all.

Managed to bag a Stacy from high school in the end and got hitched.

Pizza place ran by indian dudes. They did teach me to throw dough like a pro, but also taught me to stomp roaches and kick them under the fridge. Theyd regularly hand out paychecks and say if you cash them before the end of the week you'd be fired. I got fired on the second paycheck, walked across the street to Ruby Tuesdays and got a job within the hour. Manager was cool and said I could just show up whenever and start waiting tables (no schedule) so I got a second job the next day as line cook in a bar which took me to bartender within the year. If you're ever in Virginia, don't eat at Bella pizza.

too her credit, she aborted our hellspawn, since we both knew that the product of an 18 year old weed addict and an alcoholic failure would most likely wind up with downs syndrome or worse

Got hired by a temp agency to go to a company as an assembler. I was supposed to be assembling hospital beds. I get there on my first day and they push a flat bed dolly over to me and take me outside to load it up with these huge boxes. They were flat and about 50 pounds each. They were heavy duty cardboard and big enough to hold a hospital bed. I was supposed to bring 250 of them into the warehouse on this shitty flatbed. They were inside a shipping container that was infested with wasps in the middle of summer in Texas.
It took me till lunch to wheel in all 250. I was drenched in sweat. When I told them I was supposed to be an assembler they just laughed and said no, they don't need any more assemblers right now and that if stick around and just be a gopher for a while,a position might open up for me in a few months. I left at lunch and never went back. Fuck that place and fuck that lying temp agency. It paid $9 an hour and that was only about 10 years ago

I've done marketing research surveys at call centers before. that shit is excruciating.

second worse job was doing the night shift as 'milk inspector' at a milk and cheese factory. what we were inspecting for was bloated or exploded milk cartons in loaded pallets. so my job was to throw away and clean up rotten milk and maggot messes before sending it off. the whole factory smelled fucking horrible.

all my shitty jobs came from temp agencies. I did the assembly line thing at a treadmill factory for a while too. christ it's mind numbing work. 10 hour shifts, I'd stand in the same spot all day and was responsible for two screws. put one in there, and the other there, then it's moved to the next in line. brutal.

This is the worst part. Nothing at all. What is wrong tho is talking a homeowner into getting an equity loan to buy windows at $1,000 hole. Company preached about us helping people when its just a refi. Company was a bunch of shiesters. Shit like after you buy windows you get a company scratch card saying you could win 10k. They were all $100 winners. They said if you heating and air bills weren't reduced by 50% they would pay it. But in the fine print it was up to $500. So by month 2 you could be fucked.

Truth be told tho they are some sick windows. Applebee. Triple pane low e coated krypton gas filled virgin vinyl clad aluminum boiiii.

For yall that don't know even in a drafty ass house most all of your temperature loss is windows. Vents are always under windows to cool or heat the glass

If it's pretty hot today where you are put your hand on a window. They are shit insulators.

Insulation cant do shit with single pane glass. It's like buying a yeti and drilling holes in it.

Even cheap shit double pane wi dows with a low e coating from lowes are a big improvement if you can afford it.

Alternatively you could throw insulation in the windows and nail plywood over the hole. Likely cut your bill in half if you dont care about looks

I worked car sales at an Alfa Romeo/Fiat/high end used car dealership that has been a a big name in my city for over 30 years. I worked 10-12 hours a day, usually 6 days a week because there was always some bs reason to have to come in on a day off. Verbally abused by managers and especially customers daily. Always dealing with livid people on the phone, upset with the service department even though it had nothing to do with our department we had to deal with them. 100%commission job (imagine working 70 hours a week and not getting a dime, this happens all the time). All of this work, I was the #2 sales guy and only took home 50k that year. I had no social life anymore, hardly saw friends or family, and was the most depressed and burnt out I have ever felt after 1 year of this.

Kinda backwards since youre supposed to build a business and use proceeds from that to buy real estate but im already working 50+ hours a week and tired. I tried that shit. Basically drove my dump truck for free all year. An EXTRA full time job with a lot more stress on top of my job. Idgaf. I'm going to buy real estate until we can quit our jobs and invest in oil locally. I'll start my oil business then. My dads getting old and we been in the oil business all our lives. Its time he had a break. Jes managing a multimillion dollar company as is but still has to work his ass off.
