I remember hearing about bitcoin in 2012, and I tried so hard to understand how it worked and read all kinds of shit but I literally couldn't understand. (I didn't buy until early 2017)
Now I feel like I got even more retarded, my brain works slower but the big picture stuff seems more apparent now. I guess that's just wisdom though.

I do feel a bit slower than in my 20's, but now I have more energy and can work longer hours. It somehow balances out.

im in mid 30ies.

my mental fluency and speed "shifted" to something else.
i was faster thinking when i was younger but also more naive. i would easily believe shit.

i think i got mentally "slow" because i have now a fuckton of checks everywhere in my brain that filters out the BS and only forwards the most relevant. due to that i'm really hard to get hyped. when i was younger i could easily get hyped by an eg game advertisement. with enough exp i can now proper judge whats marketing and whats likely for real.

i also got slow cause i now prefer quality over quantity. eg one thing done right, than 3-4 @ 80%. that was a conscious choice i made with enough experience. its more expensive and you come across like a slow, ineffective piece of shit to bystanders but you kill all competition long term with rock solid work.

i think the major part that shifted my intelligence was to not jump after each stick thats thrown and to endure uncomfortable situations to great lengths. as a kid i would leave immediately when shit gets painful. i think that behaviour in general trickles down on the overall markup of your mental makeup.
