friend, if you have natural tendencies toward stem degrees, it can be a worthy investment (even though most jobs are outsource to pajeets for $9/hr - t. boeing 737MAX)

the other path is a skilled trade
which is good fiat, bad on the body, however respectable - blue collar will always be more important than white.

if you're looking at an arts degree...just...anon..i...

ok, so your aptitude is drawing.
you need to differentiate between artistic drawing and productive drawing.
capitalising on a natural aptitude for drawing skills would be furthering your technical abilities with regards to drawing, then looking at careers as a draftsman etc

was going to do economics b/c that's what the associate's is in. it would cost 20k to finish remaining bachelors' but not sure if worth it

dont listen to the idiots on this board, a bachelors degree is more than worth it if you apply yourself fully or are in an employable major. If your uni is really shit than maybe it might not be worth it, regardless I would try to do cc than transfer to one worth the money. Do not, I repeat, fall for the tradie meme. Really cucks any future career opportunities beyond being a tradie.

If you aren’t getting a degree in STEM and specifically one that leads to being a doctor (medical doctor... not some bullshit PhD), engineer, or compsci then you’re fucking up. Consider blue collar trade work: it sucks but it pays decent. Better than flipping burgers at Wendy’s which is inevitable if you get some bullshit worthless major degree

Graduated in May with 0 professional experience, despite being pretty good with C/C++, Python, and having a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. I needed 1 more class for my CS minor, but couldn’t get into the class due to other CS students. So I’m wage slaving as an infrastructure engineering apprenticeship getting $22/hr so I could get some actual technical experience. I’m giving myself 6 months at this apprenticeship to gain some actual experience and to start actively working on some projects on the side so my github looks good. I got a bunch of friends that work for google, Microsoft, amazon, Expedia and Boeing(I live in Seattle), so I can ask them for a referral when I’m ready to start interviewing. I also spent a lot of time partying too so there’s that lol. I’m only 22 atm with my whole life ahead of me. I’m more than confident that I’ll hit 100k+ salary by the time I’m 24 if I stick to my plans. You want some real advice? Do whatever you want to do as long as you got an end goal in mind. But be prepared to make sacrifices for that end goal. I spent my entire life just coasting and going with the flow. This ultimately lead me to being a math major, arguably the most malleable degree you could get.
Btw I got the apprenticeship just based off who I am, not my knowledge or skill. This apprenticeship required 1 year of experience of help desk experience which I did not have. I know I jump all over the place with my response, but ultimately my answer is, nothing went wrong. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I know exactly where I will be in the years to come, if god lets me live that long. Rereading my response just gave me deja vu, so I guess I’m going in the right direction.

Forget school homie, you can learn EVERYTHING online and social media will be your connections. Look at proko's youtube channel. Get some youtube tutorials or books on anatomy. perspective, composition. Put all your work on instagram/twitter/social media vehicle of your choice. DRAW DRAW DRAW. Plebbit's learn to draw course is also pretty legit. School is for suckers anon, don't get in debt and waste time, when it comes to art social media will be your ticket to making it, school will provide 0 meaningful career connections.

Thanks IT bro, another piece of advice. Find a way to win back your time from your wage cage. Time is literally flying, 1 year = 1/22 of my life and counting. If you know basic probability, that means each year gets shorter relatively to your life. I don’t want to slave for someone for the rest of my life. I don’t want that for you as well, or anyone for that matter. Manage your time wisely. Wake up early, hit the gym, read a book, prepare for work. Interact with your normie coworkers, befriend your boss by any means necessary. Be the best version of yourself that you could be. 4chan could be your best friend or your worst enemy. Learn to filter out the BS, the discord trannies, the FUD etc. don’t get into things that take away from the end goal you have. Upon graduating, the real world hit me like a ton of bricks. You could either let yourself become comfortable and complacent with where you are(if you own Link this may not be a bad thing) or you could strive to be victorious at this game of life. Visualize where you want to spend the last moments of your life and be willing to do whatever it takes to make that shit come true. But then again I could just be talking out of the side of my neck and no matter what happens everyone on this god forsaken Argentinian bull fishing forum is destined for failure. The choice is yours. Again my bad for the long as rant, I sound like a geriatric bastard as if I’ve been alive for the past 50+ years.

If you like art DO NOT fall for the IT/technical school meme like I did. You can make good money as an artist if you are crafty and are good at deducing what people like. Your job is simply to entertain people and help them escape the shitty reality they live in.

If your artistic get into user interface, user experience design for software.
Short is UI/UX. Have friend who does this, fits him well because he always had a good eye for design and was artistic. He had some art classes to go along with Bachelors degree in advertising.
UI/UX make as much as STEM fields if they’re good and at tech companies. You need to have a good portfolio and know the software to get a job at a legit company. My friend primarily uses sketch for digital interfaces but also uses illistrator sometimes for logos, indesign for print materials.

Truth here. Go all in on getting all of the internships you can. Also do some project or club besides only classes. Even better if you are an officer
in a club, then they think you’re motivated and responsible. Employers love internships and officers in clubs related to the career path. helps get a job.
