14492665 No.14492665 [Reply] [Original]

Oldfag here that actually used to use this board for non-crypto things, and try and reply to real content. Been seeing a lot of the V-ID company and something seriously caught my eye, the memes claiming to "verify with your eyes." I don't think any of you Anons really understand how deep that fucking meme goes for the real world. I don't think you have any fucking idea how big of a problem these VIDT guys are saying they're solving here.

Googled some words for a current review of identity and document fraud. The first result that came up, "The 2018 Global Fraud and Identity Report" by Experian, a major credit reporting company. It's only a 16 page report with a lot of graphics and shit, so you could really just read it yourself (maybe 1 page of actual 12 pnt TNR text). This document has nothing to do with crypto, this has very real implications for /biz/inessmen alike.
https://www.experian.com/assets/decision-analytics/reports/global-fraud-report-2018.pdf

Summary of how it relates to VIDT,
>75% of businesses want advanced authentication and security measures that have little or no impact on the digital customer experience.
>Business executives share a growing concern about fraud over the past 12 months. 45% significantly more.
>84% of businesses said that if they were certain about a customer’s identity, the need for fraud risk mitigation would be reduced.
>88% of US businesses said, "We would be very interested in more advanced security measures and authentication."

So overall, what I'm saying is, this is probably, surprisingly, one of the first fucking crypto projects that really actually have some real world use-case and is surprisingly needed in business today. So I read up about VIDT. They're already partnered with real fucking businesses, and you retards have the audacity to suggest that it's a piece of shit? I've watched some stupid fucking frog shit its pants for the last two years for a fucking blog post from Google saying they *could possibly use it.*

>easier to use

>can maybe work off an extant user-base that can influence new customers
I see this shit all the time. Tableau is a great example. If you're making charts with Excel, you're a total fucking retard. Do the bar charts display the same fucking data? Doesn't matter! Looks slightly newer/cooler! What you're implying is that we already have Excel, why would you make something that does the same shit? There's already one brand of car, why not buy that one! Saying "X does Y already" doesn't add to the discussion, at all. You more or less just explained to me that another product exists and does this, but failed fucking miserably at parking it with top tier businesses.

I cant believe that VIDT is getting a fucking headstart, after reading that report.

>Businesses are conservative when it comes to trying new solutions
>Eighty-four percent of businesses said that the burden of fraud risk mitigation would be reduced if they were certain about the identity of a customer (Figure 19). The good news is that businesses across functions want to be more proactive and implement a more progressive approach to fraud risk management that balances detection with the customer experience. Who can help align these goals to ultimately benefit the consumer? Businesses lean on IT when making decisions for investing in both fraud risk management and customer experience solutions (Figure 16). Considering all of the teams directly and indirectly involved, IT serves a critical role in bringing multiple solutions together. However, these teams require time and resources to integrate new solutions. If under-resourced, these teams can become a hindrance to the timely adoption of more modern and advanced approaches to fraud risk management.

Excellent examples. When the iPhone came out, it was competing with Blackberry and Treo, essentially. They essentially did the EXACT same thing as an iPhone did, however Apple repackaged and marketed the product differently (granted there were many respectable tech advancements that came with it as well). Pic related, the idea and implementation of a tablet has existed for a while, and many companies tried to market it. It wasn't until it was packaged IN A SIMPLE, FRIENDLY WAY, that it became adopted. VIDT looks friendly. VIDT looks easy. You know what doesn't? A racist frog shitting itself.

Very based fucking reply. There was a huge story that broke about the software that uses deep learning to superimpose a nude body onto a person wearing clothes. The software doesn't work THAT well, but that's how it all starts. Just needs more data.

The Brave New 1984 world we're starting to live in with outright false and misinformation literally needs something like this. Out of so many crypto projects, and bullshit haphazard concepts like "smart cities" (which need to be fleshed out, it's just too futuristic for now), this one literally solves a problem we're facing in the next election cycle. Validity of documents, video, and images.

Smart contracts are valuable because they are both automated and immutable. Without secure inputs and outputs they are worthless. The value of a link is based off of the security of the node network and it’s ability to provide secure inputs and outputs to smart contracts on the blockchain. The blockchain is secure, but real world data is not. Link solves this problem through PoS and TEE, and at the same time they are working to improve scalability through threshold signatures. still would only be roughly a 300 mil marketcap. If btc picks up the pace, that will be peanuts

Not true. Pre crypto it was mostly people sharing their stock portfolios and business startups. Then early btc days in 2010 and all the shut up and take my money Fry memes. The good old days.

for all you mentally challenged people: it's a scam. everybody who lists their coin on latoken never did research of this "exchange". it started off as something else, raised money, never delivered, "pivoted" into an exchange. they powered scam were the founders literally were wanted by the police. NKD tokens. but you go ahead and fall for this shill. and besides: the "project" ain't that special either. mediocre at best.

I've wasted more time again on this shit thread.

>Explain the UPS of VIDT
I understand, on the surface, what it does, I don't give a shit, it's an incredibly simple use of DLT, there's already companies currently doing it and likely more to come... so tell what's unique about this?

NOT FUCKING PARTNERSHIPS OR ANY OTHER SHIT, I don't care.

I mean fundamental unique problem it solves, or problem it solves in a unique way and that unique way is what they have first mover advantage on.
If that doesn't exist it lacks the fundamental base to ever pull off anything worthwhile as an investment and will just be another pump and dump piece of shit.
