In my opinion (and a lot of other people), many political things that Trump is doing is to build ammunition that he can use to bump his popularity during the coming election cycle.
So if he does too many 'good' things too soon, and pumps the stock market now, it could leave room for things to good south towards the election.

WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN SHOPPED TO BE AN ENERGY DRINK?!:

>>14439116
He doesn't ACTUALLY need a deal, he just needs to walk away with a smile and a handshake, an agree to disagree, and the market will rally.

The real problem with that is that the global economy seems to be slowing, and trade difficulties make it worse. We could get that stimulation of rate cuts, but it's not going to change anything fundamentally.

Soaring markets while the economy is slowing... I think it one of those things with negative consequences.

(The uncertainty of elections may also make it worse: Who's going to build a power plant or a factory if they don't know whether they'll be dealing with Trump's EPA or a real EPA? If they don't know what markets they'll have access to?)

poptarts are like a necessary evil

ok first, half of the flavors aren't even worth considering
the 'good' half is just something you eat if you need something and have nothing else.
It's just cheap sugar-bread

Eggos, or any kind of waffle or pancake that isn't made fresh from batter, is dumb and should be banned.
making real waffles is super easy. processed frozen sugar bread is, again, gross.

that being said Kelloooog owns Cheez-it, Keebler, and Pringles. Some of the other brands are OK. Their headquarters looks sort of cool, IMO.

I'm just paraphrasing what the COO posts on ST, but according to him, it was extremely low supply. When PHUN went public, it was around $10 a share, but only about 38K shares were available to trade, and most of its shares were restricted.

Apparently, it's supposed to be a $250 million company, and the fully diluted share count is 48M shares, so the fair price should be at around $5. Or so he implies on StockTwits, so I don't know. My average is just over $4, but I'm deep in the hole now. Not as bad as the poor bastards who bought in at double-digits though.

correct, although if your broker offers after hours you might get it before markets open (could be now in theory, but i think nightly volume is nonexistant for most things, especially when its limited to buyers and sellers with your current brokerage)

I should give myself a little credit though. I was in heavy, too heavy, on a high risk bioshit that ran in to trouble. There were about three days of volatility that allowed me to trade my way out of a massive loss and decrease that down to merely a substantial loss. My exit price average turned out to be half decent relative to where the chart eventually went.

Good learning experience and probably a reality check I needed about trading high risk stuff with 20%+ of my portfolio. If I ever trade bioshit again, it's going to be a 5% position absolute max.

the most important thing to understand is the concept of an order book
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/o/order-book.asp
an order book exists for all things that are bought or sold in the marketplace: options, shares, futures, etc...

basically there will always be a price you can sell something valuable for ($0), and there will always be a price that you can buy something (infinite $)

but for most options or shares in a market, there will be some orders for buying and selling at certain prices in an order book. the distance between the open buy and sell orders is the spread.

Now spreads are very important, but most people who just buy shares might not understand the concept, because when buying shares of high volume stocks the spread is usually on the order of $0.01. for lower volume shares and options the spread is usually larger.

a large spread has an important connotation: it means that if you market buy into a position and then market sell out, even ignoring fees, you lose a noticeable amount of money.

>If I'm selling covered calls, is it guaranteed that someone will buy them and I will get the premium?
for a certain price, someone will buy them. the important part is to get someone to buy them for a good price, a price that makes you good money.

>What happens if there's no buy interest?
you can always lower the price until someone buys (unless the call is super OTM). but then you're getting a worse deal.
