I give 20 30 more years for this to happen.
If it goes well, gold price will dump very hard, all the Jews get ousted and all the world usher in a golden down of technology, because they will be able to use gold in electronics more readily instead of copper.

It requires solar powered, self-assembling mining lasers, mass drivers, a self-healing orbital mesh to slow down metal boulders + a graphene cable space elevator to bring the ore to earth.

We can't even collectively build a ship to get to Mars.

You can’t get it for free.

Why would anyone spend billions and billions of dollars to acquire something knowing the end result would be next to worthless? We can't even get back to the fucking moon right now and you want to send spacecraft to the other side of Mars and return with more than a few dozen kilograms of unrefined ore than might have a handful of gold in it if you are unbelievably lucky?

MAXIMUM COPE

>>14425288

even if it was 100 years away, the point is that it seems extremely unlikely for gold to survive another 2,000 years as a store of wealth now. there are so many ways that work in theory and can make its supply exponential, eventually one of them will succeed
it's not fit to store generational wealth anymore, at the very least that's certain.
meanwhile, there's no way to break crypto even in theory. according to our best knowledge/experience in complexity theory, we'll most likely never be able to decrypt private keys from address. though it's not proven, but even if this somehow does happen in the future, it'll likely be preceded by long series of theoretical and technological achievemnts, all public, and leave time for blockchains to migrate to something more secure.
the only way crypto can be "broken down" is if that technological achievment (decrypting private keys from addresses) happens overnight by a malicious party who steals all crypto for the sole purpose of having crypto destroyed (as they'll be pretty worthless afterwards). something that according to our current knowledge about the laws of math and physics, should never be actually possible.

>there's no way to break crypto even in theory

Gold survives a nuclear war.

Crypto does not due to EMPs destroying the electrical grid.

>> No.14426929

>>14426892
Those effects are temporary and localized. They wouldn't affect crypto as a whole unless a nuke went of in every city at the same time, then we wouldn't worry about crypto anymore either.

This is not true, Hg has a density of 13.534 g/cm3, while Au is 19.30 g/cm3. Regardless:
>The Spallation Neutron Source can already do it from
Provide source for this claim. Also:
>lab produced gold
No. Gold is even rare in the unvierse because it's created in very high-energy phenomena, such as supernova explosions. The Russians claim that one of their particle accelerators can produce something like 1 picogram of gold every 30 years, but so far there's no proof.
>it's nowhere near profitable though until we get free fusion energy.
Even with "free fusion energy", whatever that means, it's not only non-profitable, but not even possible.

Can you read sir? I said in the near future not today dumbass.
Also, cheap gold means faster and cheaper electron transmitions.
Means that electricity would be basically free.
It can also be used in dna splicing for biotechnology.
It’s just gonna be like aluminum but with more functions.

>Crypto does not due to EMPs destroying the electrical grid.

that can happen. there are a million plus one ways crypto can be shot down TEMPORARILY. but your private keys can never be taken away from you e.g. if you just store the 12 word recovery seed in your head.

once people rebuild electricity and the internet, you'll have exactly as much crypto as you had before. that's the point.

Gold is too precious to be used as a store of value and jewelry since it has better utility in electronics than being hoarded by rich assholes that don't do anything with it. It makes more sense to use an immutable electronic record of what you've done and how much you were rewarded for it.

More gold =/ free "electricity". Do you even know what electricity is? Electricity is already basically free, it's the energy which electricity acts as a transport for which is costly. Gold can't provide energy. An abundance of gold would do very little more than an abundance of diamonds.

Do you understand copper? Copper is used for transition of electricity. Copper is no way a good conductor as gold. But gold is too expensive. People steal copper wires because they sell them.
Now if gold become dirt cheap it can be used freely.
