Well, the ideal savings for a 30 yrs old should amount his yearly income so for instance, if you make 70k/yr then you should have 70k saved up. I doubt you make more than 100k so 300k for your age is actually pretty good. You will probably be able to retire in your 50's rather than late 60's.

You cannot "make it" past the age of 25 I'd say. Late teens/early 20s is the best time to make it. Physical, sexual and mental prime. You can't really enjoy money or have money unleash you to your full potential when you're 30 years old. At least you will have money for when your body Is breaking down.
