Chainlink is open source. Why won't giant companies like Microsoft and Facebook just make their own version with their 100,000 world class developers and billion dollar budgets?

Every single person in this thread is a fucking retard. Plain and simple.
What do you think gives a network its value?
You think it is the underlying tech? NO!

What gives a network its value is the amount of users participating on said network. The technology is the underlying reason for it getting there, but ultimately the size of the network is what gives a decentralized network its value.

Why doesn't facebook just copy and paste youtube's code and make its very own facebook-tube? BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD BE USING IT AND THE NETWORK WOULD BE WORTH JACK SHIT!

So you, right now, go ahead and make your own decentralized oracle network. Goodluck getting anybody to use it and get nodes to power it.

hmmm what? In your LOW IQ analogy, you're comparing Chainlink to MS, Google, FB, Amazon. Chainlink as 0 users. The others have billions. Your analogy is fucking invalid. Kys already, with your IQ you won't accomplish much.

What will actually happen is that as soon as Link reaches 0.1-0.5mil users (if it ever does kek, 99% chance it wont), FB, MS or Google will release their own version and instantly steal all their users because they can literally reach 100mil people in 2 seconds. Business is brutal. Facebook didn't make a stablecoin after Tether had 10 users (the amount Link has kek), it started doing so after Tether had a few mil users, and it's going to DESTROY Tether.

kek that's actually bearish for Link. Fb, MS or Google will get 1 mil users/nodes in 1 day if they release decentralized oracles, completely destroying Link.

kek your comment is bearish for chainlink but you're too stupid to notice.

Since Google, MS and Fb launched, there has been 100k+ other funded startups that failed to get any users. It means that Chainlink as 0.0000001% chance of success in acquiring users.

>> No.14095106

>>14095088
>Damn, so when are any of these coming out with their Chainlink killer?
when they see that people are actually interested in decentralized oracles and it gathers a few hundred k users. Then they will release their own and kill chainlink. Just look at Facebook and Tether. They're literally doing it as we speak.

Facebook will NEVER use Link. Did it use Tether? No. Does Tether have more users than Link? Yes.

This guy knows, companies (incl. the big ones) use a lot of open source software to reduce costs, by a lot. Standardized protocols are less expensive to replace if it comes to that, maintenance and updates are done by community. A good example is OAuth2 and OpenID connect. You build your internal infrastructure to handle jwt and other tokens that are standards of the industry and they can swap the main authentication services relatively cheap, which they themselves do not even have to maintain in the first place.

But not if Chainlink has made the right industry connections first while having the first proper community that makes it sufficiently decentralized.... which is the point of blockchain to begin with; we are cheapening the access to trusted (trustless) digital services exactly so that we dont HAVE to rely on big centralized companies with a good reputation.

And if they get away with it, it will be well after I sell in the midst of the next huge speculative boom.
