Why? It could be. I am buying FTM fully know what it currently is (am ERC20 token) and fully understanding what they are aiming to accomplish. By closely following the project, my assessment is that they will very most likely deliver what they are advertising and do it on time. Of course it's a risk buying before mainnet but it's a measured risk and with the added risk comes bigger potential reward.
