Why are people calling this run artificial? I mean the volume is huge, is that not an indicator of organic/institutional interest?

Tether print machine backed by nothingburgers just produced hundreds of millions of fake dollars in the last 2 months. That is why.

They use fake dollars to buy crypto while normies put in their life savings.

I've just checked. Since the beginning of Feb the volume has increased by 50% (from 2 to 3 billions)

Because nothing has changed for bitcoin? Lightning is still a dud and the fees are still out of control. Meanwhile tether is printing out the ass. This bullrun is not sustainable.

- Price has DOUBLED since two months ago, on zero news and no change in market prospects or sentiment (other than the change in sentiment brought about by the price doubling itself).

- There has been only one significant pullback, and the market bounced off of it almost instantly.

- Nearly ALL of the upward movement since April 1st has come in the form of huge out-of-nowhere price spikes happening in brief windows of two hours or so, as opposed to gradual upward movement. Obviously that's not large numbers of retail investors buying in (ie, new money coming into the market), because large numbers of retail investors wouldn't just suddenly and independently rush into the market all at once simultaneously. These are massive whalebuys (with additional fuel from the resulting short liquidations). Retail does not cause sudden price spikes, and again, virtuatlly of the upward movement since April 1st has come in the form of these sudden spikes.

- Bitfinex and Tether are in huge trouble. Bitfinex is being sued by the NYAG, and all sorts of dirt is emerging about Tether and market manipulation, suggesting extremely troubled fundamentals in crypto-land. Yet, in the midst of that, this mega-pump is happening? Bullshit.

Go ahead and make money off of this, but the "bullish" trend right now is the most obvious manipulation in the history of the cryptocurrency market. It's literally right there in the charts staring you in the face.

inb4 the brilliant "durr hurr jealous nocoiner COPE" rebuttals. I'm IN this market right now, and I've been making money all the way up. But I don't believe this horseshit for a second and I've had my finger on the eject button the whole time because there's no way that there isn't a massive crash coming.

LR ain't anything like this though. This is some advanced cuckery. Though they maybe investigating, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this is fraud and should be shutdown ASAP.

Remember when they "investigated" silk road? Took them a few years and all they had to do was Google the guy. Bet the same thing is happening here that they're over thinking it n taking days to make an arrest.

They are pumping your bags for free and you are complaining
You DID buy the dip right?
Tether is fake and is all irrelevant unless the "real" money come in.
Consider how long way BTC has to go before boomers consider buying. ..30k minimum.
Boomers do not understand the concept of buying the dip.
They are used to eternal growth all their lives.
They buy stocks, RE ...because it always goes up.
To funnel boomer wealth into BTC they have to see the pattern, that is above 30k minimum.

probably because everytime bitcoin went up in the last 2 months it was by 20bil market cap in basically a day then did nothing for weeks. the other shitcoins basically followed that pattern respectively. totally organic bro

similarly, xbt volume on bitmex is through the roof but that's whales playing whale games. doesn't mean anything.
fiat volume is all that matters. all bull runs start small. but i have a bearish bias and i think we go lower before any higher than $10000
