If we return to bear, $0.2-$0.6, depending on the particular moment in time.

Well, a staggering amount of physical commodities are traded as a part of a derivatives contract. For example, a future contract is a derivative because you aren't buying corn or oil or whatever, you are buying the CONTRACT that will allow you to later buy said commodity at a price set within the contract. This protects buyers and sellers from wild swings in the commodities markets. Now, all of this legal organization and contract drawing costs a considerable amount of money, but because of the value it adds in security to the participants, and lack of alternatives, it is gladly paid by the parties. Usually to a lawyer or a large financial institution. Smart contracts are the alternative. When you consider eliminating, fundamentally, the biggest external cost that is involved in the derivative market AS WELL as providing a product that is no longer probabilistic and is self executing on both the front and back end... well, i would imagine a network like that would become quite valuable. Again. A huge amount of physical commodities are traded as a derivative. I can't place a number on it at this time, but the possibilities are vast.

Even with insider info, you wouldnt have any better idea of what the price is going to be over the average autist on 4chan. The price is a function of how the market reacts to your product/service. You cant really predict that, even if you are Lord Sergey himself.

Probably closer to the end of the year, Q3/Q4. I really don’t know how the market will react to news and partnerships post-mainnet.

>>13727354
Sure. This year is basically going to be the year we find out we aren’t crazy schizos and that all of the breadcrumbs are (for the most part, anyway) true. The market is going to realize sooner rather than later that Chainlink is a major company in the Crypto space. A LOT of big partners are going to announce this year. The limiting factor, though, is the size of the market. $40 LINK is a $14B market cap, which is 4th place on CMC. If we want to go higher and surpass XRP and ETH, we need a more mature product (all the features the team is going to be working on in the future), actual adoption start to begin, and moon boys start to come out of the woodwork. That’s what’s going to blast the price off into the next universe.

I have no clue what Chainlink will reach, but it could very well be several multiples of the $200-$300 I’m guessing we’ll reach by EOY 2020

EOY 300 USD +

Link is launching in the middle of a bull cycle. Is getting IRL exposure to normies now. Etc.

BTC was the first programmable P2P currency.

ETH was the first wave of simple tokenization and basic "smart contracts" and limited to mostly on chain functions with centralized oracles like MKR.

LINK enables real smart contracts snd on/off chain input/outputs. Just look at ETH and MKR as an example. Link is going to be comparable to that as a NEW feature set/ease of use, security, and reliability.

Look at ETHs run up, and even something as stupid as MKR that has to use 14 centralized oracles to provide a service.

Anyone who has fallen for the market cap meme is not going to make it.
If there are 1 billion LINK tokens and 900 mil are locked in nodes and being staked in contracts and locked in pools, and 50 million are held by long term investors then you really have a market of 50 million tokens being fought over by every node operator who wants more collateral, every business who wants to have their own link holdings to pay costs, every speculator who wants in on the gravy train, etc etc.
The prices that an individual LINK token will go to will reflect a range of factors far more complex than simply "It can't have a 1 trillion market cap that's impossible" because market cap as a concept is meaningless in this context.

Pretty funny how when it comes to link suddenly it needs to prove itself in every way possible. During the 2017 bullrun the amount of shitcoins that got above 20bn on hype alone is astounding. But when it comes to link it needs partnerships with Microsoft, google, Facebook and Jesus to break 1bn. Fucking bitconnect got around 2bn
