I live in Florida a few miles from the beach out in the suburbs of a million+ size city. The mortgage on my condo is $150 a month (bought at the bottom in 2008), HOA fee is $138 a month. Gigabit internet is $79, lights are $100, food is $200, toiletries are $100, eating out twice a week and drinking cafe at the nearby cafe costs about $300 a month. Basically life is beautiful, I live in paradise and it costs a grand total of slightly north of $1000 a month. I could live on $12000 a year and live beautifully.
I have $300,000 in crypto :-)

2k mortgage, 1k on two car loans, 500 insurance, 500 utilities, couple grand more in food, entertainment, necessities.

After that it's the occasional big purchase that adds up like new computer, new tv, new furniture and what not.

Actually the place is really nice. The HOA is run by some extremely fiscally responsible people. Another set of condos within walking distance has almost $500 a month HOA fees and our amenities are better. Our gym is nice, clean, and well lit with excellent up to date equipment, our pool area is immaculate and just recently got remodeled with a nice patio deck, and pergola, the grass and lanscaping is immaculate at all times, there are very few undesireables mucking up the place, the car wash, trash pickup, etc etc. are always in perfect working order. The community is gated. I mean, I'm sure you could find something "better" but this place is pretty friggin' great.

Oh, sorry about that.

Okay, so let's say you're making $350k per year and you're spending $90k per year. That means you're saving 75% of your income unless I'm off about your spending.

I make around 50k and save 70% supporting a housewife (although I have no child), so I see absolutely no issue with your budgeting skills yielding 75% while you have kids and what not. You're doing great and you've clearly pivoted toward good decisions based on knowing your cost of living. What you buy might be unnecessary at times, but unnecessary spending shouldn't even register unless it's affecting your bottom line. Good on you.

There are guys such as myself that believe in old school traditional relationships where the wife doesn't work and takes care of housework (and eventually children).

Doesn't make her a prostitute and in fact that is how most relationships worked when men could support a family on a blue collar salary.

Not a bad idea, but if it starts dumping, understand that in this market, you have hours at best to make the right choice, not days (unless you're up substantially). If this is truely a bull market now, you'll have dips and peaks until the next crash happens, but never assume the next dip isn't going to be the next crash.
