My boss was the same way and asked me if something was wrong. I just told her the truth and that I'm a reserved person that likes to focus on production. She appreciated the heads up, we understand each other a little better, and I'm a little more comfortable around her. Just talk to your boss for five minutes and show her you're capable of being agreeable/amicable and you're not going to shoot up the office. Hope this helps
