Being neet is like staying home sick from school when you’re a kid. It’s cool at first thinking about everyone suffering at school while you’re comfy at home.

But then they get out of school and get to hang out and you can’t because you’re “sick”. The sadness hits you. Your day was pretty boring and everyone went on with their lives, without you.

Now imagine you’re in the prime of your life, with no skills, friends, money, rotting away in front of a screen, while everyone else is out playing without you.

NEET here. All the comfy NEET shit posters are all zoomers who just graduated and don't know what is waiting for them or outstanding losers who are coping hard. I spent a long time living the lazy NEET lifestyle and it drove me insane. It wasn't until I spending hours every day being productive and working towards goals that I felt good about myself. Currently working on getting my own small business started by the end of the year.

I would also like to clarify that normie life isn't any better. I had a very normal life for a long time and it was misery. I don't see anything wrong with escaping the system and doing what you want, but the average NEET is a worthless leech who is smug about what a parasite he is. Yeah right. At least be honest. Most are working at a meaningless job they don't like all day long, coming home exhausted with no time left, collapsing in front of netflix while checking social media constantly to distract themselves by how futile it feels.

Then when they finally summon the energy to go out for drinks or take a trip they put on their biggest smile and document it for social media to justify to the world that they are happy and a success and are interesting.

That's literally what you do at work. You get up before the sun is up, go stare at a screen all day and by the time you get home the sun is setting. Because work was so stressful it takes you hours to unwind and get back to normal at which point your night is already over. I absolutely hated working full time. I was pissed off 24/7 because i felt like my life was being stolen from me.

This is true too. There is a difference between mindless leisure and self-actualization. Mindless leisure gets old quickly. You will probably be depressed/anxious within a year just surfing and playing video games. You have to give yourself goals and structure and rules. You get to play with or work on anything you find interesting, but do it deliberately. Schedule your days down to the minute. Don't give in to the temptation of distractions. Don't check 4chan or social media during your productive hours. Stuff like that. I would say that being NEET drove me insane too but work was so much worse for me.
