You can never buy a stock and know 100% for sure how it will move in the future, you are taking on risk, and this is essentially a gamble. Its a zero sum game, risk is involved, and you will never know how your shares will move, no matter how much modeling or edge you factor in.

Also, I don't completely agree about biotechs not having room to grow, that seems like a pretty finalizing statement. Although it may not be as prevalent as other sectors, it still has outliers that can grow into blue companies (I'll be damned if I know which ones though)

I think gambling then is a strong term for stocks outside of biotech. Gambling implies you can’t make an educated guess but with the market you CAN make an educated guess on whether the stock will move up or down and though it may take time to get that proficiency, it’s still possible. Biotech however is impossible(SMALL AND MICROCAP) because you aren’t the FDA and unless you have a serious insider willing to lose their life to provide to info on the drug in question, then yes it is a gamble.
My best example is REPH. 80% chance of approval, numbers all pointed to a solid gain and all smiles and what happens? CRL due to a label. And it crashed the stock I’m not talking about the rebound but people still lost a lot (myself included and this was the last straw on bio for me)
Be smart like you just said and don’t ever touch biotech unless you got tons of cash to donate to these tiny biotechs looking for a quick buck
