BROS if you do just 10min of low/medium intensity cardio before you bench it will make things so much easier

just do cardio until you start to slightly sweat, then bench (or whatever other lift you have trouble with). it's like 50% easier.

I've been lifting inconsistently for 5 years. Usually my routine is 3x/week. I haven't managed to be consistent for more than 6 weeks. I skip days or weeks, sometimes even months.

Because of the inconsistency (and not eating enough) I've made almost no progress.

I havent managed to cultivate a single good habit in my life, apart from flossing everyday (which is fucking easy).

My new approach is to start ridiculously small, because apparently that's all I'm capable of. I'm going to try meditating for one fucking minute a day. If I can do that for a month or two, I'll try to make a habit of putting my gym clothes on - literally just putting clothes/shoes on - then I'll build up from there.

I squat and bench lightly once in a while, but I do hardcore bouldering (indoor rock climbing) 3 times a week. My fingers/forearms/upper back are really strong but overall i've lost mass since when I would lift 3 times a week. Its way less boring than lifting though.

Anyway, lifting - like most things - has some benefits but is easily abused and what you need to avoid is getting too far into the lifestyle of it and becoming a fucking loser recluse and losing your social life and brain, spending all your time on forums about it, and it becomes destructive rather than beneficial.... sound familiar, kek?

Get in, get your gains, get out and do something better with the time.

Also, lifting will fuck you up for a lot of sports so be careful with that. It's not as great as liftards claim, it won't improve much other stuff, only certain similar and related things.

Went NEET since beginning of the year. Had secured enough bags and couldn't take the wagecage anymore. Lifting pretty consistently, minimum 4x per week, ever since. Feeling bountiful strength and energy from this, SR seems to further compound my progress as well. I am repulsed by drinking and doing drugs now because I know it is a waste of time that will also limit my gains.
