I think you're off on your numbers. The first speculative run would likely hit the $20 billion mcap range in a bull run. Depending on the current circulating supply at that time Link would be in the $20-$50 range. Assuming best case scenario 20k would make it if you're paying long term gains or 30k if you're paying short term gains.

Here you go.

1. Set up a Coinbase.com account. Verify your identity, link your bank account, and transfer $100 to your "USD Wallet" that Coinbase provides you.

2. Next, earn a "free" $50 worth of XLM and some other popular cryptos by watching the educational videos at coinbase.com/earn. That will get you started. You will learn how to move USD, buy Crypto, store in a basic wallet provided by the platform your purchase on, and learn how to move crypto from one wallet to another.

6. If you want to play it "safe", put more money into BTC than anything (Don't buy BCH). Put next most into ETH (Don't buy ETC). These are widely considered the core of the blockchain/cryptocurrency world and they are not "going away", unless electricity ceases to exist.

7. From there on out, everything else gets into "needing to know something about the technology or marketplace" territory before you put money in. With $30k, "making it" means putting a substantial amount in BTC and waiting a long time, maybe a decade.
