just invest into a vanguard etf account. buy some crypto too

>> No.13465934

It's easiest when you know nothing, then all you can do is put money into BTC and wait. But then as you start to learn more, more options arise, and things get increasingly confusing.

You then go through a very uncomfortable phase of knowing far too much, and likely will panic-trade endlessly and try to kill yourself.

Eventually, though, you will become enlightened and with a truly clear vision of what this market /really/ is about, and how things truly, actually work. Then you will be like Neo (from the matrix, not the coin. That's dead) and just see things as they really are, through all the bullshit. You'll be able to correctly predict and even influence the market, and calmly control your emotions to act appropriately.

This is the unconscious competence stage where your knowledge of crypto is so vast you couldn't even begin to explain it to a newcomer, and unfortunately can do little more than tell them to just buy BTC and wait.

Open a vanguard account and deposit 10% of your income a month in a fund of your choice. Retire at 40. Enjoy.

You won't do this though because you are 18 and you know better. I remember.

> Money
No matter what money you make always pay yourself first at least 10% until the day you die. If you can afford to stash away more then go for it.

Figure out your monthly expenses. Do not hold back. Get autistic. Create an emergency fund that you can use in tough times which can get you by for at least six months. When you pay yourself 10% this is the first place to put your money towards. Take the word "emergency" seriously here. Not having the cash to go out drinking with your friends is not an emergency.

> Knowledge
Never enough. Read, watch, listen, consume all information that you can. Play the field once you are confident in what to do. Do not stop learning once you hit the field. No one knows it all.

I recommend starting with The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason. It's basically Remedial Finances 099 and one of the most basic but enlightening books that school never assigns you to read.

> Savings account
What kind of savings account? Almost none are actually worth having. For most the rate of compounded interest does not even begin to keep up with annual interest. Crypto, stock market, and precious metals are all unironically better in the long run than the majority of savings accounts.
