Here in California, if I can't afford to tip 25%, I WILL not go out to eat.

I once tipped 15% on accident and the server came back and asked if I had mistaken her tip. I felt so bad(it was an honest mistake) that I corrected it and tipped 30% for her troubles

20% if they did everything right
15% if they did most things right
10% if there were several mistakes
0% if they actually managed to piss me off with their shitty service

Wtf is wrong with burgers. 25% per tip is pretty obscene.

Are you supposed to tip if you take out too?

In North America, servers are paid less than minimum wage so that they can be compensated by the customer based on performance. It makes for a more enjoyable dining experience, generally, when there is a financial incentive for the server to do a better job. It also allows the establishment to keep their food prices lower, since the wages they pay are lower.

Not generally, however it is customary to tip the driver if you’ve ordered delivery from, say, a pizza store

This is about the only time I tipped. I got yelled at by a neighboring coffee shop for never tipping once, and I like the guy so I started, but I don't tip anything but delivery and waiters usually.

This is basically the rule, but instead if 10% I just forego a tip if there are unresolved problems.

America is a joke. Here in my country it is actually unthinkable to tip more than 10%, and even then the fucking waiter has a salary so the tip is something completely extra and not encouraged
