I've been playing semis indirectly so that's really hedged a lot of my potential losses
I can probably pull out of CSCO at the morning pump for breakeven otherwise I'm looking -1000/2000 at AH prices.
Sold SOXL premarket today.
STM is the only semi I'm directly into into, but my max risk is only -200.

Oh also I'm into AVGO for about 700, but it's acted really weird today (got absolutely smoshed AH yesterday, no movement whatsoever today).
TSM might lose me 500-700 if the Asian markets bump it any further down.

Mostly worried about my shit MSFT calls expiring tomorrow at a 130.79 breakeven. Could lose 3800 on those. I really need PM to pump it up to 130.30-40 so I can swing off the IV to break even, but I have a feeling futures will shit the bed.

5g speculation is still mostly just speculation, the speculation is baked in, next wave of speculative announcement will be months out (I feel)

I hope it all works out for you but the idea to buy more options to compensate/band-aid your current options (all seemingly close to expiry date) seems a bit unhinged.

Tesla is getting fucked, and the automotive sector is way underperforming, F jumped almost 8% post earnings call today. Gonna be a nice day tomorrow. Yeah, market is just way too volatile for me right now. I'm no bear but I wasn't expecting SPY to hit 290. Seems like earnings aren't really what is going to cause a massive movement, it's politics. Hello anons, bizlet here. My parents finally want to start saving for retirement (in their fucking mid 40's) but know they're totally bizlets too working barely above minimum wage. They kept mentioning putting money in bonds but I know they'll fuck it up. Where can I read more to understand and help them find the best ones, or are there better alternatives? Gut feeling is that bonds are worse than something like dividends or getting a few ounces of gold a year, especially if this shitty economy goes tits up within a few years (I don't trust them to try the regular stock market without fucking it up either)

40s is too young to really be putting all their money in bonds, but if they're risk-averse they should look at US treasury bonds

Honestly though they'd be better off with a Roth IRA with something like a target retirement fund, if they are still ~20 years from retirement thats a long enough runway for recovery if the economy takes a hit, and a targeted retirement fund would shift more into bonds anyway as it gets closer to the target retirement date

probably best to just open a Schwab or Vanguard account and put money into index funds and other low-fee mutual funds. Every month or two (or 3 or 4), just buy and don't try and trade or pick stocks

im a bizlet too, maybe some another anon can weigh in but you can buy index mutual funds for cheap with dividends. I would wait for a dip (few months or years maybe. personally waiting for the 2020 election to see what happens and then put money. hopefully theres a crash and you buy the dip

UK, they pay into a company pension but I know it's a bad idea, if it dissolves in a few years they probably won't get anything so I was looking into ideas for taking the money and putting it into better personal savings instead. I heard of Vanguard a while back, seems like a good idea now though as they do have a solid, if low, income that they can put in some every month

Try and talk to an adviser, there should be places where you can talk to investment advisers from reputable firms for free.
some of the notes in the OP are good.
see if the personal finance subreddit has any UK-specific advice or ask there, they are all fags OFC but they will genuinely will help you
