If he signed a message from block 1 all hard drives containing the bitcoin blockchain would explode.

How would him having keys to the genesis wallet prove that he created bitcoin? It wouldn’t.

It would prove that he had access to the genesis blocks. He would likely have many keys.
Only satoshi would likely have that.

You don't need to prove it in a court of law to affect the market. You just need to prove it in the court of public opinion, which is all that matters in crypto.

Are you retarded? Literally having keys doesn’t prove anything. Keys couldn’t be given away, stolen, etc. that does not prove you created the fucking mechanism the keys operate.

I would argue that a court judgement would carry a lot of weight in the public opinion. I’m get your point but it’s not accurate.

He won't.

That's what I'm saying though. Wasn't Gavin watching? Wouldn't it be 100% obvious he was trying to fool him? Did Gavin not try to verify the resulting signature himself? It seems like him pressing a button on a computer and a huge green checkmark would not be satisfactory. He must have been using non standard tools instead of something as simple as like a pgp command line, is that not a red flag to Gavin? I have to admit Gavin in this was a wild card for me when I first heard about it and fuck it still makes no sense. Is he not a respected programmer?

i know gavin. met him at london bitcoin meetups back in the day. gavin is perfectly happy to let craig claim he is satoj. gavin is protecting the real satoj. if everyone believes creg is satoj then no one is looking for the real satoj. just go on bitcointalk and look at the threads. it's obvious who satoj is. but no one is going to tell a newfag. just try asking.

well two things about this
1 the myth of satoshi being a genius is completely blatantly unfounded, everything he used to put together bitcoin was already researched and published about a decade before 2009. basically bit gold was almost exactly like bitcoin sans the hashcash pow bit (also prior researched and published), it was just never implemented. if anything satoshi was doing the heavy lifting a meticulous coder doing a lot of testing and debugging and writing code.
2 creg can't code to save his life calling him a dev is an incredible slight to devs around the world.

all in all btc was not a stroke of genius it was hard meticulous work by an actual dev with the mindset of a creator not a twitter primadonna.

This scripts error would not produce a verified result though. He would need to switch out the public key not the signature. If he isn't Satoshi he could never sign any file that will verify against a known Satoshi public key.
Even after admitting he could be bamboozled hes still confident which seems off. You don't lightly glance at the script that confirms Satoshi's identity. Plus all this stuff with Dave Klieman and his estate and the lawsuit and supposed legal trust that will release the remaining Bitcoin to Craig in the future. Very interesting stuff. Hes obviously a hell of a conman and it seems like hes constantly doubling down; I can't wait to see whats next.

>he just claims to be satoshi badly
actually he claims first and foremost that the despicable curry poo coin sv is the ""real"" bitcoin. creg is the kind of guy that doesn't understand what bitcoin actually is. he doesn't understand consensus, he is the my way or the highway sort of cuck that absolutely loves central authority.

>> No.13332487

>This scripts error would not produce a verified result though.
unless there is a variable declared already before running the shell script named $signiture... which proves it couldn't have been an accidental typo. it is deliberate fraud 100%.

>> No.13332507

>>13332478
>He would need to switch out the public key not the signature.
no he claimed to have signed with his private key and verified it with a known public key. if he replaced the public key the whole point would be moot not to mention it would be too obvious. he had to replace the signature for one he made with his private key. then he carefully deleted the fraudulent signature.

>> No.13332508

>>13332487
I get its a naming error, swapping a signature out. But I'm just pointing out that wouldn't work; it would be swapping the public key out. He can't generate ANY signature that will verify against any message and a Satoshi public key. Once you swap out the public key, you sign the file normally and boom a valid signature. Did you write that script meme because it just wouldn't work. Hes probably a fraud though, and this is one way he could have done it.

>> No.13332598

>>13332508
>But I'm just pointing out that wouldn't work
yes it would creg reused old signatures and got caught doing it this is well documented.

>> No.13332605

>>13332508
and yes you could do it by replacing either the public key for a self signed signature or replacing the signature with a difference previous valid signature (not valid for the file in question obviously that's the slight of hand here) while pretending you are checking the sig on your file. it wouldn't work in a public demonstration this requires a controlled setting and creg only ever successfully "signed" in private on a machine he controlled.

>> No.13332611

>>13332605
sorry forgot to add: but if any tool outputs the public key or hash you would get caught immediately if you replaced the public key.

>> No.13332662

it does tho satoshi told everyone repeatedly never to delete wallets ever even if there is nothing on them never lose your private keys! he would have multiple backups especially of the genesis key which is so important as it is part of the codebase and the ultimate governance whip. no.
doesn't sign when he gains much and loses nothing with signing -> can't sign (occams razor bitch)
can't sign -> he never had the keys
he never had the keys -> he can't possibly be satoshi
it's not hard it's just logic.
