Monero and basically only Monero.

Or am I just delusional? Its probably the least user friendly, so I suppose that's a big reason people are scared of it. Other than though it seems to have the absolute best use case when it comes to currency.

Mostly from a cold storage perspective. The only way to actually check funds is to make the wallet hot. The view keys can only tell you so much and its a pain in the ass to do that anyway.

If you're using Monero on hot wallets its really not a bad user experience.

If you want truly undervalued, look outside the top 50 or even top 100.

Value is not influenced by market cap. Value refers to the current price of an asset vs what an intelligent person would value it at or rather what a "rational" collective market would value it at under non-volatile/extreme outside circumstances.

plenty of amazing tech out there. What matters is brand recognition, adoption, volume in real world transactions and news of DNM being busted by the XMR being untraceable. With many Faux-dark technologies (example of CIA running duck duck go) having a trusted fuk u the glow in MSM is more powerful than "Monero fork/z-cash fork shitcoin with small tweak to SHA LAYER"

Let me explain basic cryptography to you, brainlet. Someone could make a shitcoin literally 10000^5 more secure than XMR and guess what ? It would mean NOTHING. Monero already would take multiple ages of our universes to crack. If you understand exponential complexity you'd know that you could blanket the moon itself in solar powered quantum photon transister 10 0000 ZETAflop parallel processors and we'd die of heat death before they cracked through not only ring signatures but additional XMR obfustication algos in the worst case - average case scenario. So go ahead, make a technology a trillion times harder to crack than XMR and it won't matter because XMR has adoption and what I mentioned before.

I found Monero to have the best GUI and it was pretty easy stuff. I just dont like the updating every 6 months thing. I havent checked my funds recently but I bet I have to download a new client. DASH does the same thing, I was freaking the fuck out because I had 0.5 DASH which wouldnt show up in my wallet but I realized the client hadnt updated to the correct block height and just needed to download 13.whatever, reindex the chain. Then it showed up.
Thats not user friendly.

The main advantage is that it is not backed by a bunch of investors that will exit scam when things start to look bad. So unlike other alts it won't die off in the next crash.

It has some other ancillary characteristics that are good for long term adoption: it is more of a privacy coin (originally based off the monero algo as I recall), it has fast transactions, and it has low barriers to entry in terms of mining, et cetera.

XMR has real world use cases. People are transacting in it right now and if XMR did not exist the majority of those transactions would be impossible. XMR allows an entire market to exist. If you go for the counterpoint of "but another coin could do that" you are metaphysically correct but this is "real life" amigo, what matters is what's happening.

>it doesn't matter that Jerome's meat stack is splitting her open because mine "could too!"

well not anymore the market is so loose and floppy from XMR's GBC (gigantic black cryptography) that although your new coin may work fine it will just never touch the whole thing.

>> No.13229919

>>13229799
No need to hook me up bro.

Most schools have block lists that prevent you from mining. To bypass this you need to set up a VPN, since random VPNs won't be on the blocklist. Then you connect to the VPN, and you are free to mine.

You can find tutorials to run a VPN on google. You can do a hardware one where you buy a router and hook it up at your house, or you can do a software one through your computer. It is not too hard to set up for one computer, and a little more complex for multiple computers.

Admin access is a problem, but you could try to find a site that has browser based mining and try that

The idea of monero is great. I like it a lot. Purely private money is a dream come true.
But holding it and spending it is a fucking hassle. You can't really buy shit with it yet.
Show me that people and businesses are adopting it and I would use it all the time.

Monero is going to balloon once rich people realize how conveniently they can conceal assets. The horizon for when this occurs is much farther out than the mooning horizon for other coins. It will probably take place after the crypto market finally stabilizes.

I hear you. That's why I am more a fan of actually using it than the potential gains that I can get eventually from just holding it.
I don't see the mainstream realizing it's potential for at least a few years out.
The monero guys also need to figure out how to make it easy to use.

>> No.13230379

monero might be undervalued today, but its future and the future of other payment coins is evaporating quickly. when you can layer privacy technologies on top of (more) stable assets, like btc, or fiat via ethereum stable coins, the value proposition of coins like monero disappears. and no, base layer privacy isn't a thing, it's in-system privacy that matters, and you get all that with layered networks.

>> No.13230391

>>1323014

imo for this to happen you would need an XMR type of stablecoin. Is this even possible? Rich people don't want to concel their wealth into a currency that could fluctuate wildly from day to day.

>> No.13230422

I don't know. You might be right. But Monero was built from the ground up with privacy in mind. It would be marketed that way and I can see a lot of rich guys protecting their money with it in the future.
