Nothing pisses me off more than the cosmic injustice that is the wealth distribution in the current state of the world. I know many very creative people, including myself, who are stuck doing bullshit while these stupid fucking boomers sit on piles and piles of money, watching cable television, renting movies, and working part time jobs no one cares about because they are so god-damned boring they can't even leverage their own free time for anything useful or interesting to anyone in the entire world. They are sucking the life force out of everyone who has a creative soul. I'm so pissed I feel like blowing my fucking head off. My many projects will hopefully one day be realized, but will be a total husk of what they could have been if the boomers had not hoarded everything so they could eat garbage food, soak up medical capital, and spend years and years entertaining their worthless decaying bodies while not having an ounce of emotional intelligence to realize the absolute state of everything. Fuck boomers, fuck the banks, and fuck everything.

I don't read too many short stories, but Ted Chiang writes consistently brilliant sci-fi shorts. Really fascinating stuff, takes an idea and explores it thoroughly. Check out The Merchant and the Alchemist's Gate, Liking What You See: A Documentary (AMC developing series based on it, probably my fave), and Story of Your Life (was made into the movie The Arrival).
