Easy to understand why. There's no news, and usually the news normies see is about the price shooting up or shooting down.

News exposure for crypto is mostly self-fueling. There will be a spark to see a minor bull run, that will create news stories about Bitcoin going up again (say it hits $5700 and that's "Bitcoin up 50%" blah blah), that creates more awareness of a "second chance" which causes more buy ins, that causes more news, that causes more buy ins and so on.

I believe this is why we'll have another bull run eventually. Crypto is still perceived as one of the very few ways (maybe even the only way) to get rich quick. And on top of that, loads of people are praying for a second shot at it.
