I mean while most of you are obviously third worlders with chump change, there are genuinely people on this board who have over 5 figures worth of crypto on exchanges. In other words you constantly see you dollars making massive up and downswings and last year probably mostly downwards.

Like you guys waking up in the morning and you see your net worth having shrunk by 3000 dollars. How do you not get a mental breakdown? What kind of state do you have to be in to just shrug it off and go on with your day?

It takes a certain mindset to be happy about making money. It's kind of alienating because you can't really talk about it with anyone in real life. I hear them complaining about bills or getting excited about payday. I mean I enjoy payday too but I plan my budget out months in advance so I've already allocated funds. Payday is just kind of there because I saw it coming. You hear about the paycheck to paycheck meme but sometimes I think it's real. The worst part is they get paid more hourly than I do, I just work 70+ hrs a week so I have a higher income.
A 3k drop isn't the funnest thing unless it's something you've been looking to move into, could be a good time to enter. Might drop lower of course, but if timing isn't your cup of tea just DCA. I'm not trying to become a millionaire overnight. as long as the general trend is upwards I'm happy with my choices. You have to look at the big picture. 3k isn't that bad at all.

It doesn't matter to me. The ~$20k I have in crypto would do absolutely nothing to lastingly improve my life. It can't buy a house, it's not enough to start a business and afford the necessary time to be succesful, it can't fix my chronic illness. My life would be no worse if suddenly that $20k were to vanish, just the same as if it were to only 5x. I'm in crypto strictly for the chance to make life changing sums of money, so changes in my portfolio that aren't unrealistic and virtually impossible mean nothing to me.
