i've been thinking about funneling all my monthly bills through my credit card. do i still get points on rent?

>> No.12654806

707 credit score
$500 capital one limit 1.5% cashback
Useless because the limit is so low and I like to have utilization at 0 or as low as possible.
First credit card and they won't raise it because I've only had it for a few months.

What card should I apply for and will that hard check hurt me. Again less than a year of credit.

>> No.12654810

>>12654793
yup, at minimum 1% back

once you hit 1 year of history, get into chase or amex. they're the top dogs right now and i don't see anyone else taking that position anytime soon. recommend chase freedom unlimited, or freedom if you can capitalize on rotating categories

This. The Discover IT card is the best bang for your buck with rewards and no fees. I get 1% back on everything and 5% on rotating categories 3-4 times a year. Currently I'm earning 5% on groceries, but it's also been gas stations, wholesale clubs, and Amazon in the past.

I also have an Amazon Prime card that hardly ever gets used. It gets me 5% cash back on Amazon the other months out of the year that my Discover card isn't earning.

>> No.12655067

>>12655044
how much use do you get out of it during each quarter? most categories that category cards offer don't benefit me much, like gas and wholesale

>> No.12655081

Amex cash preferred for 6% back on groceries and 3% on gas.
Discover for 5% on rotating categories.
Citi Double cash for 2% on everything else.

Always on the lookout for cash back signup bonuses. Right now, my discover is giving 10% cash back instead of 5% for the next 6 months. My amex gave 11% cash back at restaurants for 6 months when I first got it.

Sounds like you just have no self control. I only use a CC and pay it off 100% every time. Now I have great credit and free money + other perks

>> No.12655096

>>12654431
citi double cash because I can't be fucked to juggle 5 different cards just to score an average 3% cashback on all my purchases. 2% is enough, bonus point cards are shit to me since I never fly anywhere.

>> No.12655115

I am a college student with literally 0 income, a 770+ credit score, and Discover keeps increasing my LoC so now it's up to over $4k and I've only had it a year. My utilization is going to go down even more and my credit will go up even more, this is amazing.

I LOVE CREDIT CARDS

Imagine thinking than credit cards are for paying Jewish usury tax. Having credit is good and you can pay off your cards every month with zero interest. If you don't like debt then at least get a charge card for fuck's sake.

Big Black Thick Amazon Prime Dildo Card. Back in Dec, 2017 when I got it they were giving people $75 for signing up. This is how I got my trezor after spending all my monies on Bitcoin at the top. I dont know it was free and gives 5% cash back if I just order everything on Amazon and Whole Foods.
