At no point did anyone official imply that aggregation meant mainnet. Sergey isn't going to fumble the ball on the finish line. Don't get ahead of yourselves the 4th industrial revolution must be done right. Mainnet will launch 2020 with big players coming on board, come on guys we already know this.

kek. I've heard this chit before for months now. "Mainnet end of Q4 2018! The epics are almost done!" etc. I'll believe it when I see it, and the LINK team has said we will be given knowledge as to when it is released.

>> No.12646148

>>12646130
The end of q4 mainnet speculation was bullshit. The pivotal tracker did not indicate that they were close to finishing. It was just a bunch of brainlets speculating. This is legit because the pivotal tracker shows how close they are to finishing. Also a couple months ago, sergey said we are a matter of months away. This would line up with that quote

It's not just about completing the bare-bones software infastructure although that is a critical component. How it's launched and who uses it on launch is equally crucial, as more network usage = more decentralization = more security and for a potential SWIFT network clearly security is priority. You know that 350 million LINK set aside for node operators? Well obviously that must be handled VERY carefully. Also the whole concepts of TEEs is relatively new and has being incorporated into chainlink and must also be considered. I wouldn't expect mainnet/product launch (as mainnet is apart of the broader product, is secure trustless smart contracts) until mid 2020-2021 anything earlier would be foolish and crass something Sergey is certainly not.

>> No.12646203

>>12646165
This. Everyone is thinking that it wil launch in Q1, but thats so fucking optimistic. unless the team have outsourced a shit load of work in secret. the reputation system literally is what makes link the 1000$ meme. if they are just starting it then then it confirms we have a while to go, and we know they wont launch a half baked product because they have no reason to. Next winter, or if they really get their act together then summer 2020 is feasible.

Also, when you look on the GitHub and see their commits its impressive, but looking at exactly what they are trying to do with the reputation system and its a bit obvious that there is a lot of work to be done, and anyone with ANY knowledge of C+and Linux custom script integrated GNU compilers knows it's a minimum 2-3 year AT BEST with a single coder, maybe less with more.

Link devs took the hard route of going for a SE Linux hardened kernel integration into their scripting tool - PRO TIP, since they are using it as part of the foundation for main-net, it is essential it is 100% complete, and with investors like Swift its not going to be risked launching early.

Even Linus Torvalds (creator of Linux) took 2 years to compile a similar scripting tool.
