why do you think so much money went into bitcoin? why do you think so much money went into dotcom stocks? it's the same story
nasdaq in march 1989 hit $400
nasdaq in march 1992 hit $600
nasdaq in march 1994 hit $800
nasdaq in march 1996 hit $1100
nasdaq in march 1998 hit $1800
nasdaq in march 1999 hit $2500
nasdaq in march 2000 hit $5000
nasdaq in march 2001 hit $1800
nasdaq in march 2003 hit $1200

It would take 15 years for the nasdaq (which is an index not a shitcoin) to hit its highs of $5000 again.

Bitcoin (and ethereum) served as a sort of index for the whole coin and token market because in order to buy other shitcoins you needed bitcoin (or ethereum). But bitcoin is not an index. Once people are finally able to trade their cash directly for any shitcoin you want instead of having to go through the bitcoin gateway, bitcoin's value will drop dramatically (because its value is in the fact you need it to access shitcoins.)

You are so short-sighted it is laughable. This is not the reason why it has value, this is a side effect of its value. The actual value of BTC in a world where many other cryptocurrencies exist is very simple: wide adoption. In the crypto world, everyone has bitcoin and everyone understands its quirks, so conducting business with it is the most natural route.

As it stands there is no way to change this. You can create the fastest shitcoin with the lowest fees and yet everyone will have bitcoin. Of course, bitcoin could be dethroned but this would be a very slow gradual change in the timescale of changing from gold to banknotes.

If you hold bitcoin right now, the value of that coin is insured for at least 200 years. If you hold a shitcoin, you can only hold it until the end of the next bullrun when the whales will dump on you and drive you to 0$. By the way, this is another benefit of bitcoin. BTC whales have a huge incentive to keep bitcoin at a secure price and they have held for over 5 destructive bear markets. They are like fucking guardians, they would never let it die. But most shitcoins are exit scam tier and your whales constantly fuck you over with no second thoughts.

You don't understand how value works. This 'side effect' has a huge effect on the price of bitcoin. Once this 'side effect' goes away, the price of bitcoin will go way down.

>As it stands there is no way to change this. You can create the fastest shitcoin with the lowest fees and yet everyone will have bitcoin.

And why does everyone have bitcoin? Because it's the gateway coin. Once this goes away, a part of what makes bitcoin valuable will be lost and the price will reflect that fact. Smart money has already realized this and cashed out or gone into other projects.

You're delusional if you think whales will save you. lmfao you have no idea what's coming. bitcoin won't die but you will lose the majority of your money if you keep hodling bitcoin.

I said this will happen, but in the timescale of gold to banknotes. You talk like it will happen tomorrow.

>And why does everyone have bitcoin? Because it's the gateway coin. Once this goes away, a part of what makes bitcoin valuable will be lost and the price will reflect that fact. Smart money has already realized this and cashed out or gone into other projects.

No, normies have bitcoin because it is a gateway coin. Everyone else has bitcoin because it is the only one (besides a couple of others like ETH and XRP) with real fundamental value and even normies eventually learn this and stop hodling shitcoins.

>Smart money has already realized this and cashed out or gone into other projects.
Wall Street is unironically just getting into crypto. And obviously crypto structural investors have moved to other cryptocurrencies and that is by the nature of bitcoin. There is not much to build on with bitcoin, but bitcoin is so structurally strong that everything is built on top of it. All exchanges thrive on it, and the exchange with the biggest volume literally only works with bitcoin and even settles trades on other markets with bitcoin.

>You're delusional if you think whales will save you.
I don't need them to save me. I am just a rational actor observing their incentives and acting accordingly.

>bitcoin won't die but you will lose the majority of your money if you keep hodling bitcoin.
Who said I'm a hodler?
