NEWS
South Korea’s top financial regulator has said it will not lift the ban on domestic initial coin offerings (ICOs) after finding that some projects have been violating rules

so, ETH lean ICOs

ICOs get banned, ETH coming worthless?

ETH fanboys, can you tell what purpose ETH has, when ICOs get banned?

>> No.12610196

id say that ETH is still way way overvalued after 2017 ETH hype, now ICOs getting banned, meand ETH has no purpose

ETH fanboys try to hide this discussion, because moment of "emperor has no clothes" coming of ETH

because without ICOs, ETH is basicly worthless

First off, I'm glad ICOs are getting flushed out and I'm fine with it going lower, since I'm not a hodler.
I think ETH has a lot more to offer than just ICOs. And the dapps that got over funded in 2017, might actually add a lot of value to the eco-system. Who knows, some may even justify their funding.

It hosts it's own decentralized exchanges and a private stablecoin is on the way. So it's the most censorship resistant, even if fiat onramps are cut off.

I still believe it'll be the first multi trillion dollar crypto. Because governments can't make it irrelevant, but it can make governments irrelevant.

ETH is centralized, and Ethereum CEO is basicly Vitalik Buterin, hes tweets affect ETH price, so ETH is very centralized coin

ETH was first smartcontract platform, but it cant scale, its slow, and costly

only 2017 hype, people waiting that happen to again for some reason, wishfull thinking

era of ETH is over, just watch charts, it has been only downhill ETH prices, new lows after new lows

and ETH isnt deveploment att all

Keep on chugging down that Core Koolaide.

You're right that it's slow and expensive. And yeah, scaling it is going to be a pain in the ass. They even failed to herd the cats into upgrading the network recently. But that's because it is decentralized.

If ether were centralized, it would be fast and cheap. Scaling would be a matter of server migration. And there would be no cryptokitty congestion.

ETH originally tried to make itself a DApp platform, but quickly realised it's scaling ability was dogshit, proven by cryptokitties. Also, most DApps are a meme.

Since then it's been trying to pivot into the main decentralised platform for smart contracts, with off chain/side chain scaling and computing to compensate for it's inherent flaws.

Despite this, it's still likely going to win because of all the development around it, large network, hashrate and first mover advantage, much like bitcoin.

The massive bullshit pumps were entirely based on ICOs and it's mcap is probably still too high for what it is.

Do you think some chinks in goddamn south korea are going to have any effect on crypto? I don't.
