It has to happen before they release Zen 2 consumer CPUs (they will be performance leader and can take higher margins) and Navi consumer GPUs (higher margin potential than novideo gpus due to better production cost/perf), and preferably before they stop sandbagging on the true performance of Zen 2 consumer chips, which are going to be ~10-15% faster than the fastest intel has to offer for a while. It will be the first real upgrade for PC's in single thread performance in more than 5 years, and it also comes with a massive multithread performance boost. It will trigger a lot of new system purchases from people who just sat on their hands with a 3-5 gens old Shintel 4core GPU.

OEM's won't have any other choice but to use more Ryzen, and you can bet your ass Apple and AMD will be tight as fuck when it comes to apple workstations.

So yeah, either there will be a shorting opportunity in the next 3 or so months, or else you're out of luck and should perhaps switch sides. AMD stock will likely pump a lot starting early may at the latest if there is no more news and no demonstrations. Earlier if there is news.

The company is irrationally valued (or 3 years of success into the future valued), but remember that shit like Tesla is even more so and the markets really don't care.
