You can see the thread on Tomochain #TOMO

Already 1200 tps on the mainet, stacking is fonctionnal & sharing arrived in 1 month ...It's an Ethereum VM so all the ETH draps can be easily adapt to Tomo in 2 seconds

Each level of abstraction makes usability suffer.
Crypto key storage by itself is a large barrier. Combine that with fees, layer 2, sharding issues.
I think scatter is going to do something insane to reduce complexity, though. They have to, we need adoption

Great stack anon. If you're looking for an ETH killer I would look into Holochain but I think it will have a hard time getting adoption. It's branding itself not just as an ETH alternative but also as a blockchain killer. There is finally a ton of money and marketing resources advancing adoption of blockchain, so I doubt an entirely different technology like Holochain will take off any time soon.

But I think you can't approach this too rationally. The overwhelming majority of people relate to products on an emotional, irrational, and superficial level--- this is the lesson that marketing and branding teaches us. To elaborate: Bitcoin will probably never be replaced as a store of wealth. It has enormous brand equity and has the most historical associations with notions of wealth, disruptiveness, and value. Whoever carries the name--- and with it such associations--- will be the victor. Various incarnations of Bcash may have been better tech, but their failures remind us that there is only one BTC, and whichever protocol maintains the mantle will win. ETH is similar; it may be slower to implement 2nd layer scaling solutions but if/when it does, it will continue to reign because it has already proven to be useful and highly valuable. iexec is enough of a hedge against ETH for me personally.
