Active Duty W-2's come out on the 22nd and I am curious as to any benefits I'm missing out when filing.
I'll be claiming some investment losses but beyond that I have no real assets.

Also I am married to another service member, any guidance on filing joint or separate? No dependents.

Been active duty for 6 years and just curious if I've missed anything. Google isn't much help for active duty and the resources on base are retarded.

yea there are a ton of them which is why turbotax. it asks you questions or lets you browse them. it is a pain to find them on turbotax whith means you'll never find them any other way. honestly it is a huge pain in the ass to find deductions.

Just get turbo tax, it should be free if you're E-5 or below. I'm assuming your an E-5 because of 6 years in. I've used turbo tax every year I've been in the service and it walks you through it step-by-step. It's super easy.

no it isn't. the second you need any supplementary form it's 50 dollars. some are on a list of 'premiere', over 70 dollars.
