Realistically more like 1.5 - 4k with insurance.

So hospital charges insurance like 30 and you pay one time 1-5 k ? Do you need to have an insurance before hand?

Americans pay anything other than insurance to have a baby get delivered into the world ?????

do they also swipe your credit card first before they try to save you from death ??

claims to be greatest nation earth, is actually nothing more than a 3rd world country.

1.5 - 4k is your out-of-pocket for most policies. Not really sure what the average insurance company pays, but I doubt it is more than 5k since you can, even as an individual without insurance, pre-pay a hospital 4 - 6k for a "birth package."

So figure the actual cost of giving birth in the US is somewhere between 3 - 6k, which is not that bad.

Yeah pretty much, I went to the ER the other day because a chip of concrete hit me in the eye at work. I was fine just needed my eyes to be flushed. Had to pay 1000 dollars to have 1 nurse pour water over my left eye for 5 minutes.

The only hospital around here that deals with eye issues only has an ER they don’t have urgent care.

If the doctors and nurses want to be charitable with their time and energy or you can find someone else to pay, then it is fine. You are, however, entitled to precisely nothing.

Where do you live where there is no non-hospital urgent care where you can go to for minor medical issues like stiches, the flu, etc.? They are all over the place where I live (suburb of major metro area).
