>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Bear markets come before the recession. People pull money from the market, then the businesses start laying people off since theres no investors. Once we are in the recession is when things bottom out and the stock market starts rising again.

Recessions should never come before the bear market unless some kind of productivity catastrophe happens that the pool of investor money cant calm.

I don't understand what you're asking. Free-tier tradingview is 1 product per window, and limited studies can be overlayed (4). IB charts haven't changed in 15 yrs, load up trader workstation and see. You could theoretically script something so you could trade with even free-tier Tview, write your own calls to IB's API as it's exposed for all customers.

will i make it if i buy $1000 of index funds every month no matter what and never sell until i get to retirement age and then....im not sure what i do

do i sell as needed for cash, or do i convert them all into divvy paying blue chips and live off those? whats the normal way to get cash flow from owning a bunch of equities?

But dividends have cushioned it nicely, and it's not like the company is going to stop making profits

BOI DO NOT GET IN NOW!

Stocks are overvalued if you get in you're guaranteed to lose value. Personally I would wait for the crash and everybody to sell off their life savings at a discount. Once the stock market is hit the floor invest everything you got into it. That's what I did in 2008. Turn 5K into 500K. Granted I'm no millionaire but what you should be doing now is preparing for the greatest stock market Steam Sale of all time. 75% off everything :3

When the Boomers retire, which will happen very very soon, they'll pull all their money out because they're scared. When the market hits the floor make sure to buy in Tech.

Consumer Staples will be up at that time. Healthcare will go up during a recession, but you have to be prepared for AFTER the recession. Move all your chess pieces in place for 4 to 6 years ahead of time

Index funds are unbiased and have a bit of everything, no changes in the weighted distribution

ETF's are actively managed and their holdings can be changed based on the whims of the fund's creators

ETF's can crash when their constituent companies arnt crashing
