It haven't aged too well, in terms of being compared to more modern game design ideologies. The same director's magnum opus I'd say is Titanfall 2's campaign, which lacks the modern military special ops theme but it's a lot better in immersion, level design, and gameplay, probably because he had very little constraints.
But they're (MW1&2) still very enjoyable games.
