The problem is with monero, this shit is barely usable. Wallets are a joke too. They need to straight up stop technical development of this coin for a solid year and work on making it more user friendly

Monero supply will match BTC supply in the year 2040. So no it isn't a massive problem like you think it is.

USD has more inflation in terms of purchasing power over the same amount of time.

monero supply is literally deflationary, as more than ~1% of XMR gets forever lost due to people suddenly dying, people losing their passphrases, forgetting about earlier buys etc. etc.

>> No.12199149

>>12198234
After hitting tail emission, the total amount of Monero increases by the same number every year, but the percentage of that increase goes lower every year.

Example:

Year 1: Supply at beginning of year: S, supply at end of year: S + I, where I is inflation as a flat amount.

Year 1: S
Year 2: S + I
Year 3: S + (2*I)
...
Year N + 1: S + (N * I)

Percentages:
Over year 1: (I / S) * 100
Over year 2: (I / (S + I)) * 100
Over year 3: (I / (S + (2*I))) * 100
...
Over year N: (I / (S + (N * I))) * 100

Every year the percentage of increase drops, although the flat amount stays the same.

The dollar doesn't to that, the percentage of inflation every year varies but doesn't just keep going down. Thus we have exponential inflation.

I was thinking along the exact same lines.
It doesnt make any sense whatsoever that they would have somehow unearthed a flaw in the protocol but are unable to share it with anyone else, including the dev team.

except the only implementations we have currently are not only using a flawed version of zero knowledge proofs(depending on a proper "creation ritual") but also due to the vast majority of adresses being public enables chain analysis-tracking of even the supposedly private part. Much like how that weirdass monero fork/airdrop 6/7/8? months ago was bad news due to it giving insight into a possibly big part of the monero chain and how much each adress specifically was holding.
