How come advertisers don't want to have their ads on "unsafe" or nsfw content? Youtube's been terminating a lot of channels that are "edgy" so advertisers will support them or something. Is there an actual logical reason behind it? Or just old christian men who think that kind of content is satanic or something. I didn't know where else to ask this, it's just something I was curious about.

90% of any given audience are people in their 30s and 40s or underage children with parents in their 30s and 40s who find anything more extreme than network television upsetting. Come to think of it most think modern network TV is too loose too.

Complaints range from conservatives whining about televised kissing and homosexuality to liberals whining about evil guns and shows not being inclusive enough. All in all it adds up to people wanting to turn on entertainment to tune out of reality, rather than face things that make them even remotely uncomfortable.

Most importantly they don't care if they're ruining it for everybody else, they're self interested and don't give a fuck about anyone else besides themselves.
