Anon I can’t tell you what will make you happy, all I’m doing is laying out other viewpoints so you can paint the whole picture and come to a decision yourself. my problem with your argument is that it rests on the axiom that you could never find a woman who can control her biological urges enough to be a good wife and give you children that enrich your life (the way you say travel or video games or whatever will) and also that you will always and forever be able to control and resist those urges, even if it's just regret late in life that you didn't attend them - maybe that happens or maybe it doesn't, but you're still taking a gamble.

No one here is saying you have to give up everything you like to have a wife and raise a family, in fact it's on you if you can't find a woman who wants you to have those things it's entirely on you. But you're too afraid of what you read has been done to women and 'society' on these boards to go out and even look for yourself. And you will never know the joy of that connection and that family that many, many people from all walks of life, through all modern history, have had. I'm not citing it for procreation or collectivism, I am citing the very real selfish joy that can only be had through family.

You are saying that you are more control of biology than billions of people who could potentially make your life better if they had that level of control. I don't buy it
