Yeah, because a node can store its own data a happ can just use a trusted node as an oracle but they said that it still has the garbage in garbage out problem so you would be stuck running your own oracle or using a trusted service.

The design of holochain and how flexible it is means each unique app or user can pull data from wherever they want though since you aren't relying on a big slow state machine.

ETH 2.0 is also going to work in a really similar way.
