I just won £13k on the lottery. What should I do with it?

Gf wants to buy an apartment. I wanted to start a self-storage business or invest most of it, but I haven't done any research. Right now I just want to turn it into more. Thinking of hiring a financial advisor.

lad a financial advisor will instantly assume youre a retard for bothering him with a 13k lottery win.
its a lottery win ffs, throw half om binance to fuck around with and put the other half towards the deposit.

if this was inherited money or money youd earned through hard work, id say look to invest it properly, it isnt though so have some fun playing with the many shitcoins on offer to us and maybe learn a few lessons about the markets

Anon, shes your gf not your wife. Big difference. Therefore its your money not hers. Also, dont blow it ...take some time and see what you can do with it.

Boomer Gf

Property is a depreciating asset unless you're renting it out.
Nationwide bank gives 5% on up to 2500 for a year
TSB gives 5% on up to 1500 a year
Open a sole account and a joint account of each.
HSBC has a regular saver for 5%
Then invest whatever is leftover

Stay in cash for now until the correction hits then dive into stock market.

Invest in bitcoin and an assortment or obscure “alt coins”

Because these rates are capped at the limits described it won't compound, so you could take the interest made and put that into investments also. (Interest paid monthly for the Nationwide/TSB accounts)
