Everyone take a deep breath and plan ahead edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Yes GE is in trouble but there is one thing a lot of people are forgetting; Spinoffs

GE Transportation is getting sold to Wabtech (or something like that; starts with a W anyway). GE shareholders will get a stake in this venture. W's shares are trading at $90 ish range now. GE is trading at 7-8ish. So your going to get GE, BHGE and eventually W all for the low low price of 7 or 8 dollars.

GE Healthcare is also planned for spinoff.

I'm expecting Canada to put in a bunch of dojis on non-Aphria or Aphria-involved dude weed stocks. There was a severe overreaction to that short attack on these completely unrelated companies, especially on the US ones for some reason. Probably gap down opens, low volume pump, equal volume sell back down before close, doji finish. On Thursday the bulls will make the initial buying thrust to start the buy wave with US markets trading to add their volume.

I'm completely flabberbamboozled by how hard Curaleaf and Acreage Holdings were hit. I have a position in the first but not the second. Those are the two biggest multi-state weed concerns in the US right now.

it simply means that bondkikes dont see the near term as too kosher. but near term in bondkike vernacular is a lot longer than most longterm traders here

and its more that every single shot in every episode of evangelion is a homage to a dozen animes that came before it, the plot itself is nonsense

depends on the anime, but in general, yes

sorry that you are not the core demographic that it was aimed at?

on the plus side, nothing in anime should suprise you after watching evangelion, plus you can now understand (and rightfully detest) anyone who starts a waifu argument ?

if you want a good anime you should have just watched something that is good on its own merits, like cowboy beebop, not something suggested to you by spergy neckbeards that plaster their walls with hentai and own $10,000+ worth of action figures

ETF's, index funds, or just buy a bunch of random stocks in companies you like

dividends+compound interest will make you loaded in a few years (or decades)

the problem is that in bull markets you make 8%-10% returns easily
but in bear markets you get -8%

but in the long run youll be better off with the swings when you hold, compared to letting shit sit in a bank for tiny 1% growth

you just have to make sure you dont panic sell when prices drop, and make sure you are consistently cost averaging down, not buy a ton of stocks once then never touch them

best way to get started for passive investing is to take your money you plan on investing with, use half to buy stocks, let half sit around for a month, use that cash half to buy more if there is a sudden dip, or use a portion of that cash to buy more in a month from now (or a week from now, or a year from now)
or just set aside x amount of dollars to invest in your stocks every month, no matter if the price is high or low, as long as you consistently add to your positions, and you dont invest in a dieing company, you will do good

the more often you add money to stocks the easier it is to ignore short term dips, as long as you dont panic and liquidate yourself when you have your first red day

also never invest in memes, especially memes that /biz/ recommends
and remember, gold/silver are terrible hedges, disregard anything that a goldbug tells you

Replace FNGU with FNGO
its Faang but x2 instead of 3
fngu is simply too dangerous during high volatility

all the small purchases were when i was just starting, and i ahd MSFT in an old 401k from another job. I dont mind owning a lot of MSFT though.

>>12017294
i kind of hate selling and aren't planning to buy any more FNGU or other 3x stuff, they truly arent worth it unless we are in a super low volatility golden bull run scenario, which we aren't in enough to be worthwhile
based 2x

>>12017224
i've thought about picking up some 2x DOW but the SP500 seems to basically cover all the boomer DOW stuff

i dont have any of the divvy kings, T lookin pretty good with a 6%+ yield at $30/share currently, you own that and probably heaps of KO?

The UDOW is superior to SPXL in everyway imaginable, and has out preformed SPXL

It's almost impossible to trade options in my country ($25 commission and phone order only) but warrants are readily available. Is there any functional difference if all I want to do is buy puts or calls? I'm not interested in writing options.

rate of profit, and absolute profits were much higher back then, especially during and immediately after the way. Lower levels of accumulation gave less opportunities for asset bubbles to form. modern recessions are on a whole different qualitative level.
