probably, most ive seen are randomized, even weight, reset positions monthly

random walk basically demands that a bunch of stocks that are truly random will beat one stock a majority of the time, but of course in real life there is always a few exceptions

and "random" stocks means true random, like throw darts at a newspaper, or let a 2 year old pick your stocks

I haven't looked at this either but I wonder how the power law tail distributions of stocks affect averaging. I know power laws tend to require much larger sample size before CLT/LLN type results kick in at a noticeable level. They been around for like over 100 years and now they are in the shit. Your best bet is Disney, T, and KO. Cause as long as they make movies/entertainment and make softdrinks, kids will flock to it. most random portfolio benchmarks ive seen assume equal weight for each stock
not a problem if you have 200 stocks worth $1 or less each, but if the randomizer picks AMZN one month, then you better have 200x whatever AMZN's current price is
(or it it picks BRK.A, you better be a multimillionaire) so there are real world constraints on it

and just because it works 90% of the time, doesnt guarantee that you will be one of the 90% that it works with

I think K-means and HCA technically have a better return distrubution too, but you have to be very active to do those well

Okay I've seen enough of the election numbers. GOP takes senate no problem. Tight race on house. Neutral leaning towards positive outcome for economy. Investors who yoinked out money back in October will come back in on account of nothing silly happened. Green for the rest of the week. Trending green for the rest of November probably. Maybe pump it up real stupid until mid December tax selling gets going.

Also, and not to get too /pol/ish here, the salty bitter tears of the lefties on Canadian CBC radio this evening were pretty glorious. I'm fairly moderate as far as politics goes but they sense of ego and sanctimonious claims to being correct the lefties are fond of lately rub me the wrong way.
