You're not alone buddy. I took out around 8k€ in payday loans to invest in crypto back in October 2017. Too bad I was an impatient little cunt and totally missed the golden rocket of December because I was too busy leveraging BTC at 20x.

I browsed /biz/ for hours every day and was well aware of the potential moon missions that could've actually made me money. I was so close to "investing" in some of the coins that rocketed during December, but chose to margin trade BTC because of my impatience. Ended up losing everything around March of this year and I now have around 13k€ in debt. I also disregarded my studies during this 5 month period, spending my time either looking at the charts, browsing 4chan or smoking weed.

I finally got my life back on track around April and have been making incremental improvements ever since. I haven't actually been to /biz/ in over 6 months but decided to look it up today out of interest (and because I'm a bit tipsy atm).

I learned to take ownership of my retarded behaviour and I'm currently just trying to look for normal work and focus on creating healthy habits. I almost lost my apartment and my privilege to study at the best business school in my country, but prevailed.

The worst part is, I'm gonna have access to ungodly amounts of money soon and I'm afraid I'll just repeat the mistakes of my past. Hopefully I'll have more sense and I'll finally understand that 3% yearly gains (on average) are good enough, any system promising more is way too risky for a retard like me.

That sucks man! You actually have only one real option, and that is to wagecuck for a few years. There seriously is no magic trick to this. Minimum wage is better than no wage. Sorry fren, but you will look back at this with a wholsome sigh.

This is true. Wagecucking is the real solution, unironically. It allows you to learn humility and gain a proper work ethic. After that you can apply your intelligence and do something real in the world and make money.

think about it this way: it doesn't make any difference if you invest in crypto or any other asset. most assets have pretty much the same kind of returns but they are scaled differently. all assets switch between bull and bear markets, they just have different volatilities. that is, by leveraging the s&p 500, you would get the same kind of returns (positive and negative) as crypto. conversely, you could just invest a fraction of your money into crypto or almost equivalently buy s&p 500 without leverage.
once you realize that, you just have to think about how much risk you want to take and how to maximize the performance of your investments. I can't help you with the first thing, but for the second point a good idea to maximize your profits is to diversify on hopefully uncorrelated assets. buy some sp500, crypto, bonds... how much depends on their volatility, you could use leverage for bonds for example. this will improve your overall sharpe ratio and you can invest more without risking too large drawdowns.
don't listen to the degenerates that tell you to go all in crypto.

When it comes to software development it's important that you have some kind of portfolio, past projects that are more challenging than fizzbuzz.
Once you're a good programmer and you can prove it you should be able to find a job easily even without the degree.
I recently got a relatively well paid student job at a software developer and I'm studying mechanical engineering.
I'm a yuropoor, though, don't know if it applies to burgers.
You can still make it. Slow and steady wins the race. Don't try anything risky to make it worse. Also sell that fucking car if you haven't already.
Also don't drink and drive, you retard.

I'm a millennial, although I hate what my generation has become and dont identify with it, I am the peak example. In school I was told I was smart. I thought myself to be above everyone else. I never made an effort with friendships. In highschool I disregarded studies because I was smart enough to get by on tests alone. Instead I spent my time being an asshole because it made people laugh. I got in trouble a lot and it left a distaste in my mouth for continuing school. I delivered pizza for a year and then tried to attend community college. At the orientation I had what i think was an anxiety attack. My body was buzzing, I just felt unease.

So I kept delivering pizza and getting my legal age coworkers to buy me alcohol. When I finally turned 21 I just started getting drunk everyday and called out of work too many times that i had to quit. I found another pizza delivery job, but the alcoholism still grew within in me until February of last year I got a dui. For what? No reason. I would buy alcohol on the way home then go back out before 12 to buy more and then after 12, go to a bar. That wasnt even how I got caught. After I did both those things I went out a third time to get cigarettes and that's when I was caught. I was convicted of a dui after paying 2k for a lawyer to receive the same sentence I would have without. I was allowed to keep my job driving though

I tried to be an electrician and failed the interview, so I still drove. At the end of 2017 someone totalled my car and at the beginning of this year I bought the same car like a fucking idiot. The reason I couldnt leave that fucking job was because I had to pay for that car and then I signed up again for the same thing. Why would I do that? I had 18k in January because of LINK I thought it was going to keep rising forever

But it didnt and I was stuck as a delivery driver and I hated it. I learned more about a coding bootcamp in april and decided to go into it. And I was the best in my class and then graduated in april. I thought I would get a job within a month of graduating so I turned down a chance of working there. Now I've spent the last 3 months doing nothing expecting my resume to speak for it self. For someone to give me a chance. I thought I had that chance a week ago, but today it all came apart. The first chance didnt work out because I havent coded anything and the second was never going to happen. I wanted to believe but I was wrong.

So what do I have? A 20k car loan. A 9k personal loan because of the dui and investing in LINK. A 6k student loan and I owe 6k on my credit cards with only 2k left to spend. The only money I have is 14k link which is about 7k usd right now. I know I'm going to have to sell 4k link in 10 days which hopefully stays 2kusd or becomes 3k usd to pay of my 1k of shit I have to pay and also some of my credit card debt. I have no choice now. I have to go back to working in a restaurant and force myself to code again and learn or I will never get a job I want
