I have a idea for a app. How do I go about getting a successful Kickstarter going?

You need a really detailed business plan. Like, REALLY detailed. Write up as much as you can and do your research on, for example, how much hiring a programmer would cost.

yeah, like another anon said kickstarter won't work (unless a physical product goes along with the app). my advice would be to sit down with a programmer in your area to get an idea of complexity/cost.
