>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

hypothetical
>you get talking to this girl
>she's the most beautiful girl you've ever met
>for some reason you hit it off
>she agrees to go on a date with you
>you're so excited you don't look at your phone the whole day leading up to it
>best date ever, no awkward moments, immediate soul mates
>she invites you back to her flat
>she's ripping the cloths off your back because she can't last another minute without your seed
>your dick is diamonds beyond belief
>your naked grandad could rise from the grave before you and you'd still be hard for this girl
>her phone buzzes from a text
>she reaches over to throw it across the room
>she sees the message
>her face turns sheet white and she freezes
"i-its for you anon"
>she hands you the phone
>it's a screen cap of a graph
>the message reads
"A gift from mr Bogandoff to anon"
>a graph so horrible your dick shoots up inside you
>the sudden rush of blood from your gland to your head causes your face to turn bright pink
>veins bulge
>youre eyes pop out a bit
>your nose is a torrent of blood

What would that graph need to be

If you hold for less than a year then sell for a profit, it’s taxed as income (your normal tax rate).
Taking a long term profit will mean it follows a separate lower rate (the first three brackets are 0%, 15%, and 20% depending on your normal rate).
You can google this.
In my opinion, if you want to day/swing trade you’re accepting the larger tax rate for taking more opportunities.

> $100,000,000,000 in debt
> $22,000,000,000 evaporates into thin air in a goodwill write down

They have lots of debt coming due in the next two years and they need to sell a ton of assets to be able to pay for it. Cutting the dividend is a good first step, but they might as well have made it 0.00 instead of a fucking 0.01 joke.
My takeaway is It's going to get worse before it gets better and I wouldn't hold the stock even if you paid me their old 0.12 dividend.

AMD was $10 this year. It being $30+ was obviously priced in higher than expected growth and it didn't even beat revenue guidance for Q3.

No China trade resolution

Semiconductor wide downturn

If you are surprised AMD is not $30 right now you're crazy. It had the potential but just didn't make it. It's still closer to $20 than $10 which is a huge improvement.
